This hotel is great. The rooms are very nice- their are nice tv's and nice beds. The beach is very luxurious, it is huge and the oceans nice. The hotel offers nice amenities, good pools, good tennis courts, nice beach activities, and good classes- like pottery, painting, cooking, and nice kid activities and babysitters. The food is amazing, the breakfasts at the cabana is so amazing, the lunches at restaurants are very nice, you can go out or order in. Their is a pizza place that is nice. The bakery is very nice. The front desk and the staff is very nice and they have good deals at the front desk. The hotel is also connected to 3 other hotels. Spa is very nice. Overall- great hotel.

We first stayed at the Royal Mayan around 2000. We thought it was the "homiest" of the Royals and loved it then. We've been back since and enjoyed it just as much. We just stayed there again, and nothing has changed. It's still our favorite of the Royal Resorts in Cancun. The resort has been maintained in a pristine condition, We had a room on the 9th floor with a terrific ocean view, although the rising sun was somewhat blinding. We had the entire suite, and it was comfortable and everything worked as it should. The staff (at all of the Royals) is helpful, courtious and friendly. We're just sorrey that the Royal Mayan is going to be sold. The only thing we would like to have more of is some sort of a piano bar or lounge with soft music and a dance floor.

For eleven years we have had the pleasure of staying at the Royal Mayan. Beautiful villas, beautiful views, beautiful grounds, beautiful people! Food in all restaurants is very good. The Royal Mayan is extremely clean and well-kept. We DO NOT want an all-inclusive situation. Prefer to take the buses (local or Royal Shuttles) to other places and enjoy other restaurants in the area. Activities are well prepared. Pools are extremely clean. Love Palapa atmosphere. Do not want it to "go away"...we bought a week at the Carribean to look toward the future. Friends we have made are priceless!

The royal resorts has been our 2nd home for over 20 years...We love the hospitality of the resort employees...our personal favorite employee is Benito, he usually attends to us in the Royal Mayan swim - up bar! He is the BEST!!!!!! he has never forgotten our family since the first time we visited the resorts...we love him! Luis is also one of our favorite, he too is an excellent employee. If you read this and are going please say hi to our friends from Nancy, Brock, Tanner and Malibu plus other family members that were unable to join us this year. A guaranteed great time.
