“Pretty Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Hotel was really nice and clean. Didn't get involved with much of the staff. Food was just ok. I really didn't care for using the room key for purchases. Would of rather just paid cash. The beach was very nice, but it was way too windy. So, if you are going there to get in the water forget it. The pool was cold and no beach loungers to be had. Also, the sun sets early and you're in the shade. I would choose another hotel on down were it's not so windy. They cater to the time share holders, so If you're not one they really don't bother with you. Would choose differently next time.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time to post about our resort.

We appreciate your comments. We are always listening and will make sure these are reviewed by the appropriate departments in order to find ways to improve our service. Our resorts have a policy that prohibits guests from saving beach chairs and sun beds by covering them with towels. Thank you for pointing it out we'll continue to enforce this policy.

We know that windy weather is not as pleasant as warm and calm conditions, but we kindly ask you to understand that the weather is not under our control. We are sure that the wind will soon drop and calm will prevail. We are sorry that you say you will choose a different resort next time because of the wind and we hope that you change your mind so that we can provide you with the service you have come to expect from Royal Resorts.

Warm Regards.

“Royal Islander. Staff great. The building? Not as.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We stayed at the Islander for 2 weeks. The staff was excellent. Helpful, friendly. The resorts outside grounds is good. Nice swimming pool area plus the front beach area is beautiful. Always very windy though. The building itself is the problem. The elevator broke down 3 times, our toilet would either run or get plugged easily. The rooms though clean are very dated. The wifi was horrible. We had to switch rooms on Saturday and had to wait 1 1/2 hours for new appliances to be installed in our new suite. Also the Royal does an aggresive Timeshare program after treating you to a breakfast at their new resort. They say at first they just want to show you around, however..... Bit of a turn off."Sorry, I forgot to bring a cheque for 40,000+ dollars."

Room Tip: To get great timeshare rooms at a decent price.....sellmytimeshare.com

“Great time at the Royal Islander”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Our 8 night stay at the Royal Islander was wonderful. Facility is ultra clean, beautiful pool with drink and food service, and a spectacular clean beach with the same bar and food service. Fish tacos from the onsite restaurant were fabulous! Every room has a wonderful view, either of the pool area or in the case of our unit, great view of the ocean! Units are extremely clean, furniture and bedding are fine, although, could use an update....but perfectly fine. Access to the other Royal Hotels make this a bonus for their restaurants, pools, etc. Quiet resort, no rowdy drinking crowds which we appreciated. Excellent restaurants a cab ride away if you choose. Onsite, small market for groceries, etc. or a full Walmart a cab ride or bus ride away has everything you need for your stay....food, beer, liquor, etc. Wifi in the unit worked fine. A great resort...would love to go back!!

Room Tip: If you can get an ocean view, it's truly spectacular....but all other rooms have pool views whic...

“Consistent quality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We have been coming to the Royal Resorts , the Islander, for over twenty years and have never been disappointed in our stay. Clean, spacious and nicely appointed villas with outstanding beaches, pools and restaurants. The staff are all great and there is more to do than time allows! My only negative was too much time spent by "Chubby" pushing Dr. Dzugan at the Orientation. Very uncomfortable and NOT the place for that! Please don't do it anymore...we felt like captives...
