1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

I was suppose to stay at this hotel, please stay away from this hothel, staff was very rude, thanks god I was able to stay at other hotel, unclean, and they never offer for what I sign for. requested one king size bet they give me a two single bed and the room was very poor maintain, basically I just stood in the lobby and change my reservation to another all at the same night of my arrival, Stay away from this hothel.

Room Tip: stay away from this hothel.

The pictures shown at internet is not showing how the room looks and what including... We got a room with old, horrible furnitures, holey curtains, no hotplate,cofee-pot or even not a electric kettle BUT in the cupboard there was a frying pan and a kettle? Where were they thinking to use this? maybe on the balcony sun is frying my eggs ? Beautiful sea views was view to the hotels background and an old unfinished building site with some glory holes full of dirty water, really bustling road... of course you could see the sea looking over the side of the balcony...The shower water was cold almost every day ( they came and fixed it when you called)...
We request the reception stuff to change our room to WHAT WE PAID FOR but the stuff was not really customer servant, most of them couldn´t even speak enough good english to understand what international guests is saying ? and they lied, telling they don´t have rooms BUT almost every day there was peoples checking in and checking out..... We were not the only guests there who agreed the same things.... Breakfast and the stuff at restaurant was good....

Room Tip: You can´t choose the room ????

My husband and I stayed here in Feb 2014. When we arrived at the hotel, it was a shock. The reception was dirty and smelly. The room they tried to put us in was 611. As soon as we walked in we could smell urine and faeces. The room made me cry. Not what we were expecting. The kitchen was a 1.5 meter work top with dirty and chipped plates and dishes... The double plate job only had one plate with the other missing resulting in a big smelly hole. The curtain rails were wonky. And there was urine and faeces on the toilet wall. My husband went straight down to reception to complain, whilst he was doing this a nice Canadian couple overheard him and told him they too were put in that room. They got moved straight away to a sea view room which was certainly not worth the money they paid but was a vast improvement on 611. They then moved us to another room which was still very basic and smelly and uninviting. The staff never argued about the state of the rooms and moved us to another room which had a sea view and was slightly better. We got to a point where we were going to find another hotel we were that upset. A few days after we eventually got moved to an 'average' room. We got talking to a Norwegian couple who arrived a couple of hours after us at the hotel. They told us they were also put in room 611. Same as us they also asked to be moved.

Even though the hotel is in serious need of a refurb, the restaurant and bar staff certain make up for the hotels down falls. They are very attentive and friendly. The food is very basic but very cheap. All in all we certainly would not stay here again until it has a refurb. Be wary of this hotel and if your room isn't nice, ask to change! Our holiday was completely ruined when we arrived there.

I stayed at Imperial las Perlas in September 2013. Pleasant time and pleasant staff.Reasonable breakfast -despite noisy kids at other tables screaming their heads off and the staff doing nothing about it.
Telephone system did not work -despite repeated comments to front desk.Full of sympathy but ineffectual at addressing issues.
The hotel also has NO ELEVATOR. This compelled me to walk three flights of stairs(up and down )whenever.I left the room. Quite tiresome.

Room Tip: If you tire easily get a room on a low level-there is no elevator

We basically just stood in this place to sleep. We were in town where all the fun was at almost everynight because this hotel is not around anything. Its closer to downtown which in fact isnt a good thing. Im assuming you would have to go in a group in order to enjoy this place other than that the beach was dirty the water has alot of sea weed. Hotel was ok but its a walk up. Id rather pay more and stay at a better hotel.

Ok, allow me to preface this review by saying I DID NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL...

It was difficult to give a overall rating because I did not stay, but seeing how I just got back from Cancun yesterday, and did come to this resort for an hour to catch a boat to the island, I thought why not?

First off, the photo of the front of the hotel, I'd like to know where in the heck they got that from? Looked NOTHING like it in my eyes. Next, the pool photo...PLEASE!! The pool area was a joke. The rooms all around the resort had paint or whatever falling off, and the pool was small, dirty looking and nothing id like to swim in. And for my last rant, the photo of the happy people sitting around pool bar...NOPE. The bar looked disgusting and run down and the grass around that and the pool area (which are basically the same thing) was anything but lush green that the photo shows. Just a heads up, the rooms may be nice and the staff killer nice, but from the quick time i was there walking around, would not catch me there!!

Ahh, forgot one thing. The "restroom" in the pool area, my quick count was 3 half dead cock roaches in there (still moving legs) and bugs ALL over the window. Good luck with this place, won't see me here ever.
