“Top Shelf Vacation Crew”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel many times. We look forward to coming down each year and reuniting with our friends aka (also known as) the employees of the hotel. The people who work here are courteous, friendly and fun to be around. The bartenders and staff around the pool are awesome -just to name a few Elf, Roger, Melchor, Luis, Roberto, Angel and Antonio. Then you have Gerardo and the whole staff from the lobby bar which are just as friendly and happy to serve you. The bartenders work hard all day with a smile on their face. They are great!!! They make our stay that much better!!
The Entertainment staff is awesome as well. Roger, Lucia, Chewy, Chacho and the others keep the guests entertained all day around the pool no matter what age you are. They are fun and friendly and we look forward to seeing them each day of our stay. The lifeguards are terrific!! They are always keeping a watchful eye on the ocean and are always ready to go make a rescue. We look forward to seeing Manain andJohnny on the beach each day. The wait staff in the restaurants are very professional and accommodating. The food is very good and you have many healthy choices. No one goes hungry!!
Even though this place is all inclusive they appreciate a tip and if you tip they treat you like royalty which shows how much they appreciate it. Can't wait to go back with the crew the end of the summer!!

Room Tip: A room that faces the pool and ocean are the best!! The top floor is hotter due to the sun hitting...

Like many other people reading reviews about the Crown Paradise, we were a bit apprehensive about our stay during the busy Spring Break week of March 24 - 31. As it turned out, we were thrilled with our time at the resort and would certainly stay there again. It did not feel nearly as crowded as we thought it might. We had no problem making restaurant reservations, we could always find a table at the buffet, and the busy infinity pool was a lot of fun to be a part of (all due to the outgoing staff who keep things hopping all day long).

My husband and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year, so we decided to treat ourselves to a stay in one of the Honeymoon Suites, while our children stayed in a Standard Plus room. The honeymoon suites are fantastic and so worth the small extra cost. They are located on the beach end of the tower, with incredible views and large private patios with jacuzzis. A fantastic place to watch the cruise boats go past on a moonlit night and to withdraw from the crowds if that's not your thing. So, if you can afford it and you book far enough in advance, treat yourself to one of these lovely rooms -- or the Crown Plus category of rooms -- both of which come with special perks.

Our teenaged children had a blast: eating from the buffet and many other food outlets whenever they wanted; playing tennis, basketball, mini golf, beach volleyball, and water volleyball; and just hanging out at the pool and beach.

The resort is on a large property and as a result, there are many different spaces to enjoy. During our week there, we were still discovering new activities and service outlets right up to our last day. Our whole family really enjoyed the buffet; there were so many choices of food to eat, all fresh and changing each day. The omelet and Italian stations were a real hit with us, offering made-to-order food just as you like it. The pool side snack bar was a lunch favourite for our kids -- hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, tempura, nachos, etc. Our family's favourite restaurant was Los Gallos, the Mexican one. Food was fresh, drinks were HUGE, and the band delightful.

Value for money, I would highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Splurge for the Crown Plus rooms -- the added benefits will make your holiday!

My husband and I took our 2 daughters (3 and 6) to Crown Paradise march 10th to the 16th.
We arrived early in the morning so we were too early to check in. They gave us our bracelets and took our luggage. We could enjoy and take advantage of the full resort while our room was being prepared. We had a standard room, 2 double beds. The room was great size for a family of four. It was clean. We were on the 6th floor. All rooms look like they have ocean view. Nice size balcony. We could not eat at the à la carte that night as you need to reserve 24hr ahead of time. The buffet was good, variety of food. Discovered the smoothie station et delicatessen station at the end of the trip. VERY GOOD! The à la carte restaurants: Wayne's Boots. Specialty is their Steak, it was really good, but the ribs were extremely dry. Italian was delicious and even had a salad bar. The mexican restaurant was great. The food was amazing. The fujiyama (sushi bar) was also very good. The snack bar had hot dogs, hamburgers everyday. Everywhere we walked, from the lobby, the hallways, the restaurants, the washrooms, hallways to name a few were extremely clean.
For kids: the activity pool (main pool) had games for kids over 6. The kids club had activities all day. They have basketball court, a common area for crafts, a waterpark. You could leave your children 4 and up but you could also stay with them. Our 3 year old could do the same activities as her sister as long as we were there with her.
The beach: very clean. The waves on the other hand were very high; strong undertoe. Red flags everyday. Life guards on duty.
Staff, everybody was great! From the front reception, to the bartenders, to the maid, the servers and the staff at the kids club. Without forgetting the guys at the main activity pool.
Mini golf: very fun
outdoor water slides and rock climbing: did not use them but saw them and looks fun
The shows at night: We saw the circus, the fire show, the awards show and the fantasy kids show. All were about 1 hour and were very entertaining.

What we didn't like: THE WIND! We spoke to a few different couples that have been there a few times and all have said that it's not just that week but there is always wind here. It was so strong that we had to hold on to our 3 year old because she was getting tossed around.
Every day we were bothered by staff in the main lobby. They were trying to invite us to come and have breakfast and listen to them about booking at their resort through them and not through a travel agent. They say we would save lot sof money. They were very pushy. I felt like I was being bothered by time share salesman. That we did not like. We had to ignore and not make eye contact because if we did, we were in for at least 15 minute conversations.

Overall, this resort is clean and family oriented.
Although we will not return, as we love to try different places, we do recommend this resort to families. Fun times for everyone!

Room Tip: We had no luck in negotiating a better room, with that said, every room has an ocean room therefore...

We just got back from the Crown Paradise, after spending a week there with friends (and kids). Overall it is a very good family hotel for the price.

Rooms:
The rooms were adequate, not luxurious. We were on the 6th floor facing the ruined hotel next door. The view (including the wrecked hotel) was spectacular. The furniture was dated, except for the flat screen TV. The only real complaint was that the sliding door to the balcony would bang in the wind (and it was very windy during our stay).

Food:
The food was good, not spectacular (which I actually appreciated, because I did not feel the need to over eat). The buffet was occasionally so busy the we would have to wait for a table. My son, a very picky eater with allergies, did have a bit of trouble finding things he could/would eat, but managed to survive on bacon, hotdogs, and hamburgers. Most people should have no trouble as there was a lot to choose from.
We did try two of the a la carte restaurants - Italian and seafood. The Italian food was disappointing, but the seafood restaurant made up for it. The good thing is that if the a la carte is not up to your liking, you can always visit the buffet after. The reservation process was annoying - hard to get through, few choices provided, and late bookings with kids.

Amenities:
We made use of the Kid's Paradise, mini golf, water slides and Collage lounge. Staff were constantly working on the maintenance of the hotel, and it needs it. The elevators were twitchy (though never failed completely), tap water came out black for a short period, and during a rainstorm the roof on the covered pool leaked. None of these significantly impacted our vacation as we were not expecting luxury accommodations.

Overall, compared to other all inclusive resorts, I found this one to be a bit chaotic and disorganized. The map and info was printed on a tiny pamphlet. Staff were helpful but seemed stretched too thin. I would still recommend it to other families, looking for an affordable, fun vacation.

Just returned from a eight night stay and loved every one!!
Let me start by stating this is my tenth and best visit of them all. One of the very noticable upgrades was in the restaurants and buffet. Always great service and meals I'm for Long Island NY where we have a dozen great restaurants in every town.
The beaches were biggest and best I've ever seen in Cancun..
Special thanks go out to the entertainment staff ( Lucia ) as well as the bar tenders ( Elf, Louis, Melincar, Angel, Roberto ). The true unsung heros of the resort are the life guards keeping everyone safe..

This hotel is nothing but fun. I enjoyed every minute I was there. The rooms were very comfortable, the balcony view was great and the bathrooms were always cleaned well. The staff were beyond kind and respectful. The entertainers were nothing but fun. They always had you doing things and making sure you had the time of your life. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast. My two favorite entertainers Chuy and Chacho always had me rolling on the floor from laughing. Not only did they entertain you in the day, but at night as well. The entertainers performed shows each night that would make your jaw drop. After that they would bring you to a room called the Collage and have contests, karaoke etc.. For the night they would bring you to and from the in of the night. It's non stop amazing fun, as I mentioned above. I believe you should just ignore the bad ratings below because they're lies in my opinion. I'm 100% confident you will have the time of your life.

This was the first time I had visited Cancun and the Crown Paradise hotel. I've never seen my kids so happy in my life. The entertainment was amazing, making us adults have a blast as well. The food met my standards, which are pretty high, and the staff were just so nice. I felt as if I were a queen. The Entertainers always had everyone doing something to have a blast. One of the entertainers named Chuy had me laughing at all times! The rooms were very comfortable and the view from the balcony was great. The hotel is very safe and secure, making you feel comfortable. The entertainers perform shows at night for everyone to watch, and I may say WOW. They all do a wonderful job, they even make you drop your jaw at times. For you young ones out there, the entertainers will bring you to the clubs at night. You have full VIP access and they bring you to the club and back. I promise you all that you will have an amazing time. I came home and just wanted to buy a plane ticket and go right back.
