“Fabulous vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Visited the resort the last weekend in October and stayed in a honeymoon suite. If there are no kids in your party, you owe it to yourself to stay in a Crown Club room, honeymoon suite (at the end of the building, full panaramic view of the Carribean Sea!) if possible. You are definitely treated well when you have the distinctive purple bracelet. Our minibars were not stocked initially, but one request to the concierge, and voila! We requested Diet drinks, bottled water, and seltzer water, and it was refilled daily. The adults-only floor has a lounge with a nice, quiet breakfast, and call brand cocktails from 6 PM until 11-ish. This was a great place to meet before and after dinner, and we met some fabulous people who will be facebook friends for life! There is also an adults-only pool, which is the only pool we used. That's when we were not in the sea, which is the main attraction! The beach has been fully restored since Hurricane Wilma.

The buffet was being renovated (BTW, they do this every October), so they split the service between two of the a la carte restaurants. It was a bit crowded and not as great as when the main buffet is open, but they did a wonderful job of accommodating the crowd. I never got tired of the food, and I usually do by the end of the week at an all inclusive. I noticed that the menus in the a la carte restaurants had been pared down since my last visit, but it was still very good. They let us go to the French restaurant as many times as we wanted, even though it is advertised that you can only go once.

There is one computer in the Crown Club lounge, but other than that, internet access is very expensive. One tip I learned is that the busses have free wifi, and they are very inexpensive. So, you can just take a trip to downtown Cancun and back with your tablet, smartphone or laptop!

I really want to go back with my grandchildren, as the kids' Paradise looks awesome. They have a fabulous entertainment group, and they were all having a great time! It was easy enough to find peace and quiet if you wanted it.

Room Tip: Honeymoon suites are incredible! Be sure to get a Crown Club room if there are no children in your...

We would return to this resort again and again. We were lucky enough to meet seasoned Cancun travelers that showed us some tricks to being a tourist in Cancun. The resort was clean, beautiful, and inviting. The buffet restaurant was undergoing renovations but you did not notice. We upgraded to adults only floor with all the extra perks we felt like VIPs. Great place to go!

Room Tip: upgrade if you can to adults only rooms in the tower

Dear guest, Thank you so much for your recent review and wonderful comments regarding your time with us at Crown Paradise Cancun. We are very happy to learn that our main purpose, which is helping you have a great stay, was accomplished

We look forward to welcoming you back soon so you can see for yourself the finished product of the renovations and have the opportunity to try our wonderful food at the Palapas and of course, including the many restaurants we have in the hotel: Seafood, Steakhouse, Mexican, Italian, French, Oriental…… and perhaps take in one of our nightly theatre shows, play a game of golf, mini-golf or tennis and many more activities we provide.

Best regards,

Visited CPC mid October this year and after having read some mixed reviews, was a little dubious about what to expect. These worries were completely unfounded! Check in was nice and quick, you get given all you will need; room key, towel card, safe deposit key and a little info pack about the restaurants, pools etc. Staff were friendly and they greeted us with a drink and cold towel.

Rooms were a good size and the beds were really comfortable. We had a room with a view of the sea and lagoon, though we were on the side with the abandoned hotel. This really isn't a problem if you're up high enough as it it is all low rise. Towels are changed daily and there are always plenty. Room service could be slow but it's the only place you can get bottled water, so make sure you stock up. Plenty of power points too.

The food is really good. The buffet always had plenty of variety, though only really ate there at breakfast. They have different stations so you can always have vary what you eat. We visited all the restaurants, except the Italian, and the food was really good in all of them. Definitely have the steak in the French restaurant rather that Waynes Boots as you won't be dissapointed with it! Really thick and cooked exactly how you ask for it.

The staff were absolutely amazing. Really couldn't do enough for you. Sebas at the pool bar brings you drinks at the quiet times, even though we only tipped him on the last day. The waiters at breakfast are really good as well, They always give you their names and go out of their way for you but I think this is more for the hotel questionnaire rather than tips.

Make sure you get out and about on your holiday. Laura, the TC rep, can book anything for you. Local travel is really easy. Costs about 45p regardless of distance, if you ask the bus driver, he will shout out when you've arrived at the destination. Bus drivers will also beep at you if they see you walking in the street to see if you wanna get on and you can flag the buses down like taxis. Worth taking a trip to El Rey, you can walk to it in 2 minutes and it's only a few £'s entrance. They have a lot of Iguanas there so if you take some fruit you can feed them, they will run at you though but won't get close enough to bite.

This hotel made my holiday so enjoyable thanks to all the staff and I will be visiting again. Really can't stress how awesome everyone was! So thanks CPC!

The location of this hotel is amazing and the private beach is beautiful and perfectly clean and well looked after. The jacuzzi in the rooms is huge and amazing and the food is second to none especially the a la carte restaurants! The strawberry daiquiri's are great and 24/7 free room service is certainly nothing to complain about, the steak sandwich at 4am after a brilliant night at coco bongo was to die for! Cannot fault anything about this hotel but remember to have plenty of spare change or small notes as the whole of Mexico seems to revolve around tips and remember to save your ridiculously large exit tax! We will definitely be going back!

We just stayed Oct 21st thru Oct 27th. We stayed in Rm# 1251. The pool by the kids pool was closed for repairs so I think that helped with noise. Very nice staff. It was nice and quiet because it was off season for them. I liked that.

Food was good the Mexican restaurant was our favorite. Seafood was also good but I didn't like the lobster they grilled it and it took all the sweetness out of it. They charge a additional $25 us for it and my husband ended up eating it. I may just be picky. The buffet by the pool was ok. It was nice that you could just grab a burger or what ever and not have to go to the normal buffet. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good lots of things to try and choose from.

Pools were awesome they cleaned them morning and night. Towel service was good too. Never had a problem finding chairs. They also have lots of games and things.

The room was nice but like everyone says the beds are really hard. My husband had to look to see if there was a mattress. We never complained so maybe they could do something about it. Also they upgraded our room. So we had a small fridge and a mini kitchen. They said the water is safe enough to wash the babies bottles in. I did put them in the microwave a few times but I know I washed them a few times just in the water and we didn't have any issues. We did use bottled water for brushing our teeth and drinking.

The babies club was awesome. My 2 year old son loved it. I stay home with him and he is a bit shy but the girls were great. If you leave the baby they will give you a pager if you want. I really liked that. They also have family time. Where if you don't want to leave the baby then you can just go play with them and use the space. We did that a lot. Family time is 9am to 10am and 4pm to 5pm.

Airport as everyone says BEWARE OF THE GUYS IN BLUE SHIRTS. We were tired and forgot. So we got wrapped up into one. We didn't buy anything but we got free stuff and to see Cancun a bit. Also don't exchange your money at the airport. They only gave us 10.4 when in town and at the resort they charge 12 or 14 to our 1. The timeshare guy told us to exchange it at one of the malls or your resort. We didn't and lost about $50 us. We wont do that again.

Also the Hotel will try and offer you a " WELCOME PACKAGE" we got sucked into that one also. They did give us some free stuff and gave us a discount on our trip back next year so I have no complaints, but if you don't want to be bothered then try and remember.

All in all we are going back next year so that should tell you it is a decent resort. A lot of people put on here that it was horrible and unclean. I know we have stayed in dirtier hotels in the states. I could see how that could happen in the busy season. It is clean but because you cant flush that could get a little gross. So pick a slower time of year and you will really enjoy the resort. Great for families and great for folks with younger babies. We didn't bring our 12 year old this time but we will next year and they have a awesome teens club. We got to see it in one of the bars.

Dear guest, Thank you for the time you took to write this nice review after your stay with us at Crown Paradise Cancun. We are so happy you had a fabulous vacation and that you enjoyed the room's amenities as well as a few of our restaurants and facilities. Hopefully on your next visit you can try our other fabulous restaurants: Freanch, Italian, Steakhouse… and possibly take in one of our nightly theatre shows or clubs we have in the hotel. We also offer many activities for older children, as you will bring your 12 year old next time: Zip Line, Mini-Golf, Teens area, Basketball, movie theatre and many more activities.

We are very proud to have amazing staff in our Baby and Kids club and that they were able to make your son feel comfortable while with them and that you were able to enjoy our facilities a bit more freely.

We do wish you would have mentioned your preference of a softer bed, as we would have gladly provided more padding to the mattress. Please do not hesitate to ask when you return on your next trip.

Again, thank you for posting and see you soon,

Best wishes,

I traveled with a group of 9, no children, to this resort. It definitely seemed like there was a lot for kids to do and the resort was family friendly, so if I was looking to travel to Cancun with children I would DEFINITELY consider Crown Paradise.

We had a good trip, but the adults-only ammenities seem like sort of an after-thought. The Crown Club Lounge (upgrade- worth it!) on the 8th floor of the South Tower has an adults-only breakfast with mimosas. Edgar, the normal server there is GREAT! Our floor was in that same building, but then the adults-only pool is in the other building. So we had to go down 7 floors, across the huuuuuge lobby and then up a floor to get there- a 10 minute trip at least. You also can't get towels at the adults pool, so you would have to make a detour to get those and stop by the main snack bar while you're at it because there is no food up at the adults pool. This pool is lagoon-side as well, which was fine but you can't see the ocean at all.

There is no entertainment staff up at that pool either, so it's pretty quiet most of the time. Had we not had such a large group, I may have been a bit bored. The bartenders up there are the best though, Sebastian and Luis were so fun and made great drinks!

The buffet food was average, not much selection. The sit-down restaurants are much better! We had good experiences at all of them with Wayne's Boots being the worst. It wasn't bad exactly, just a bunch of overcooked steak and veggies you can get at a low-end steakhouse in the States. Sans Souci was the best, but very very rich! Go there with an empty stomach and you will leave stuffed!

Other notes: all of the bathrooms smelled BAD. I didn't notice that they were dirty or anything, but the pool bathrooms for instance are underground and I think between all the moisture and poor ventilation, they just always stink.

Overall, the hotel is nice, food is fine, beach is great. I wouldn't stay there if I was just with my husband since there weren't many adult activities, but with a big group it was great, we made our own fun. Like I said though, if I were to travel to Cancun with kids I would absolutely book this place.
