“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014 via mobile

This hotel offers outstanding customer service with a friendly, helpful, and hardworking staff along with it's great amenities there is plenty to do and enjoy at this resort. Amazing food, beautiful rooms and a perfect location. The hotel is family friendly and still a great spring break spot. If your looking to go down here to enjoy the crazy spring break festivities it's a quick walk down the beach but the hotel itself stays very quaint and relaxing. It's the best of both worlds. This hotel gets 5 stars. All inclusive is the way to go at this hotel. But be respectful and tip the people who take good care of you, it says tips are included but I disagree. They work very hard for very little. I will be coming back to this hotel for sure.

Prior reviews really helped me in choosing this hotel. I was not disappointed. This hotel is kept up to high standards. Very clean, very organized. Hotel staff was amazing and food was good. It is away from the "party zone", so this made a great quiet place to relax and enjoy your vacation.

This was our first trip to an all-inclusive resort so we don't have anything to compare it to really. However, Omni Cancun was quite nice. The rooms were spacious and kept very clean. The service was far more than we expected. We were never left wanting for anything. Every time we called the front desk or housekeeping, the phone was picked up before the first ring was even done ringing. Everyone was amazingly friendly and helpful, and no one ever made us wait.

The grounds were quite lovely. The pools were beautiful and plentiful...never crowded. The restaurants were nice...but one recommendation...make reservations for the two fancy restaurants (Deva and DaVinci) the moment you get there. They fill up fast and aren't open every night. Trattoria's pizzas were fresh and delicious, the main dining had plenty of options and the food was generally good. The Mexican restaurant was nothing special but the nachos you can make yourself were really good...especially with their fresh guacamole. We never ate at the sushi place, but it seemed pretty popular. Pina Colada restaurant, right on the beach, was very nice and never had a wait...no reservations required either. Drinks were all nicely prepared and tasted great.

We had paid for a lagoon view room, but with some nice asking, we were upgraded for free with a ocean view room. It was a perfect location and quite beautiful. I don't think I would have enjoyed a lagoon view room. It was also a view of the road and not nearly as nice.

If I have any complaints, it would be that the room had an adjoining door to another room (not companions of ours) and we could very easily hear any noise in the room above the average voice...there was a child in there that would cry and we could hear it very easily). We didn't really hear much else other than the adjoining room tho.

Also, not the fault of the resort, but it was so super windy there that the ocean was pretty much off limits for swimming. In fact, almost our whole trip, they had the red flags up that meant to stay out of the water. We ventured in about to our hips and with the waves, it was at time up to our shoulders so we didn't dare go farther. I was told that this was windy season and May would have been calmer. It really is probably the only thing that would keep us from returning to Omni, as the resorts on the north side of the peninsula have calm waters.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to friends...who don't mind wind :)

Room Tip: go ocean view. Room 1902 was perfect!!!

Didnt know what to expect but to our surprise it was fantastic. The room was very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and more than helpful. Everything about this place was wonderful. Our trip was all inclusive which I would recommend to anyone planning to visit the Omni. This was our first trip to Cancun and it wont be our last. The only drawback was very limited internet access but it was not really important as we were on vacation.

Omni cancun was one of our families best vacations! Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and helping hands from the bell staff. They safely stowed our bags until we were able to get into our room. The front desk did a wonderful job trying to get us into a room as soon as they could on account of our very early arrival. We were able to go enjoy all of the perks of the property while waiting for our room. Checkin was quick and we were greeted by the friendly concierge who went over all of the properties activities and outlets. The beach is right on the property with white sand and turquoise water! There were plenty of beach chairs and cabanas to relax in as well as beach volleyball going on. The beach bar was great with the swing seats all around it. If we didn't want to go to the beach we could lounge by the many pools or jacuzzis. I loved the in pool lounge chairs. The dining was so delicious! Pina Coladas breakfast/lunch restuarant had a great menu with a combo of mexican american and seafood, all was very tasty! The mexican cantina was muy bueno with it's festive menu! The pool bar was delish as well with wings, burgers, and other appitizers. La Polloma buffet was my favorite for breakfast lunch and dinner with a large variety of foods. It was especially nice to see the gluten free and vegetarian selections! Di Vincis we did not get to try due to having a 15 year old in our party. It is an adult only resturant. It was an incredible ocean view from our room! Our room was very clean, large vanity area, and super comfy beds! They had all of the amentities one would need at your home away from home. All and all we had a blast playing beach volleyball, bingo, and watching all of the nightly entertainment, enjoying the natural beauty of Cancun, and the wonderful Omni resort that really pride theirselves in making their guests feel special! A #1 vacation destination!!!!

If you're looking for the nicest place in Cancun, the Omni probably isn't the best. It is, however, in my opinion the best value in all of Cancun (and I've done a lot of comparisons).

Pros: All inclusive, drinks were phenomenal (and free!), hotel service staff was good and friendly, room was clean and nice. Overall very nice resort, great beech, etc.

Cons: Food quality was mediocre. Took a few days to figure out where to go for the good stuff. You get what you pay for though - you'd pay hundreds of dollars more at a nice resort. It really depends what your budget is. Also, during spring break it's a pretty loud place - so for families be prepared for noise and crowds.

Room Tip: It can be a loud place and the doors don't protect well from the hallway noise. Request a room...

The Omni Cancun provided a great vacation for my friends and I. The food and drinks were great! The rooms were clean and had wonderful views. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The Entertainment Crew lived up to their name. They were very personable and fun! They were always coordinating activities and made sure we had a vacation to remember. I'd definitely recommend staying at The Omni Cancun if you are looking to have a once in a lifetime experience!
