We just got back and id say overall its was an great resort for the money . There was a couple of things that bothered me .
Payless Car Rental - Ripped us off when we were told one price in dollars but they have thier own coversion rate from the rest of Mexico !! and , you guessed it , we were charged 25% more . Avoid PAYLESS CAR RENTAL in the lobby . Always ask what the final cost is in pasos , as they didnt take our Dollars when we offered to pay with them instead .
Also BEST DAY TRAVEL - Purley sell excoursions based on commission , and will tell you that they are giving you the best deal , which is rubbish , as they are all the roughly same . I dont like the way that they think we are stupid.
I talked to the manager and she tried to defend them , to which i replied that because of these venders in the Lobby , that i would Omni responsible for letting these agencies rip-off good paying customers . She said there was nothing she could do , but i told her that there was plenty i would do , starting by letting everbody on Trip Adviser know what happened , and then the corporate offices.
That said , the resort was clean , safe , quiet , staff were great and food was good , maybe could have been a little warmer , but thats buffet food for you ! Great sushi bar !
If you decide to go to Market 28 BE CAREFULL !! I had my wife and 2 kids with me and was offered drugs right in front of them . TheY know no shame ! Stall holders were hounding us sooooo bad that we got out of there a.s.a.p ! Stay with the shops and flea market in the Hotel Zone . The Market 28 is very sketchy and i wouldn't feel safe there , especially at night . BE CAREFULL !

Booked our trip through Costco and we were pleased in pretty much every way. The service was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. We loved our room and had an absolutely stunning view of the ocean.

The reservation restaurants were surprisingly good and the food quality was nearly as good as the atmosphere. Beverages are readily available and the beach and pool bars are fantastic. The only down side was the food quality in the buffet restaurant (yeah, real shocker that the buffet food wasn't great...). We were there 7 days and only ate there twice out of once nine to our schedule.

I can't recommend this place enough for the value. We have paid much, much more for much, much less!

There are three things that truly distinguish this hotel: the ocean view rooms with a balcony, the Pina Colada restaurant with breakfast on the beach, and the staff.

This was our 14th trip to the OMNI Cancun and we had a wonderful time. The OMNI staff were absolutely outstanding and everywhere we went at the OMNI we were greeted with warmth and treated like family for 12 days. The staff turnover is very low so it’s extra special to see old staff friends who actually remember you, your name, and make you feel at home when you vacation at the OMNI.

Even the elevator problems we experienced while we were there were quickly overcome when we found out where the service elevator was!

The rooms are nice, especially the ocean-view ones, and the food is good although for all you food complainers out there get real – steak in Mexico isn’t going to be like what you’re used to in Iowa or somewhere.

We’re looking forward to next November!

Had a great time and would go back. The staff and hotel are great. If we had any problems the staff would fix it immediately. The only problem we had and it was our fault was the time of year. We like the beach and in Nov the water is rough. We will go back in a few months when it is calm.
