“"An Experience We Want to Forget"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

We are currently in our second day, and already looking for another hotel...
The "Hotel" looks very run down and old except for the over polished lobby that is a "Time Share " trap and club room, our first first room smelled of chemicals and quickly gave all of us a jead ache, the room was small and cramped, we requested another room that they quickly provided on the 8th Polished floor that was nice but in the shower spraying out beyond its boundaries and ceiling where very poorly made and looked as if ready to fall apart. The cleaning service was actually very professional and quick. If you are looking for good food then you will be quickly let down as there are three restaurants, one of which is only open around dinner time, one buffet hybrid that is nice, usually over packed at major times and slow, the other being a small buffet, it has a small selection of "Dry" and almost poorly made food, I found had the "pleasant" experience of finding a food sticker from my dry pasta... There are also a decent selection of small food shacks that can be found, one at the lobby bar and one to the side of the pool, the sushi bar was very good and we ate there quite often, on the other hand the pool side food shack had sub standard fries, but surprisingly the burgers where very good there, I skipped on the sea food, having watched a shrimp cocktail sit for a number of minutes in the heat just to be mixed back in with the rest. The bartenders are very nice and pleasant to talk to but the servers seem to have max priority over the bartenders. The staff where very nice and professional. Oh and there is wifi but it doesn't work in your room and I am currently writing this review outside near the elevators. Decent location, good staff, and bad experience. Would NOT Recommend..

Lovely 2 day room only break here. We were lucky enough to have a room on the 8th room we did not however go for a ocean view room as we knew we would not be in the room much and had a 5:30am check out on day of the departure. The hotel itself was clean and modern enough and had lots of facilities and good live music. Our room was huge and the wifi worked continuously despite some reviews saying it didn't in the room and by the pool. The only issue was the fan noise from the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach across the road but wouldn't here noise from the clubs in room 1808. The spa was lovely. The beach area perfect as it was out of the way from other hotels. Weddings were popular and funny to watch (not my sort of thing with people staring and could be windy also) but you could see them. The guy in the souvenir shop was lovely and sweet and products were displayed well better then other tourist shops on the street. I saw a lot of people sat in meetings and I'm guessing if you are all inclusive you would get hassled more so than us. Overall a good visit but glad it was short as found Cancun very touristic and American but glad that people are Spanish speaking and haven't lost their way too much. Great location is you want to party at Cocos or Plazzo but you will pay more than in Playa del Carmen.

Room Tip: 1808 if not bothered about sea view but like to be high up as you can still take in a lovely view in...

This was our first trip to Cancun. The Krystal hotel and resort met and exceeded our expectations. We were greatly impressed with the quality of the services which began at check-in and reflected in every other areas of the Resort. The employees were very warm and hospitable. The house-keeping services were prompt and efficient. Our room was cleaned daily and items replenished. The ocean view from the balcony was simply picturesque and spectacular. The breakfast was awesome, and included a variety of cuisines but we were impressed with the fresh fruits and vegetables. This resort is ideally located in central Cancun and on the beach. Night clubs and flea market shopping are just a few steps away. Our vacation was a visit to "paradise"

Room Tip: Ocean view with private balcony.

My husband, Carlos and I celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary at Krystal. The Staff are FANTASTIC, The Hot tub was not Hot ...That was a Big disappointment but the rest of the Resort was nice. It only has two restaurants to choose from and at times because it was so slow there was only one open. This resort is very clean, FANTASTIC Beach area, you can even Snorkel near the Man Made Breaker...Lots of beautiful Fish.
Coco Bongo is two blocks away if you love to Party! Walk to shopping areas. I would like to go back there. It is All Inclusive and the Frozen Mango
Margaritas are FANTASTIC!

Room Tip: We had a Beautiful Room with the view of the Ocean and you can see most of the Resort Strip.

What can I say about the Krystal hotel? fabulous service, great views, exquisite food, rooms super clean, the attention given at this particular hotel has far exceeded my expectations. This is what I called Service, the staff made me feel as If I was home.

read reviews and thought oh dear ,have I dropped one. when we arrived foyer was good ,looked 4starrish ,room ,very dated not a 5 star ,3 at best ,sea view as promised great location on beach and round corner for bars. the staff where very friendly ,especially the girls serving on the beach ,pool area. food was ok tended not to be very hot ,always rice ,barbeque nights tended to be rubbish, luckily we snacked that day. all inclusive but bar closes 11 oclock. entertainment a bat flying round the bar was the best. the Mexican restaurant was excellent though. the hotel was ok if youre happy with 3 star quality but certainly not worth 5 star prices

Excellent services from the pool area, specially from the Snack Fisheria. Special thanks to waiter Jaira, chef Gilberto, bar tender Pacheco and waiter Luis for their great and kind service; they made us feel at home.
