Had a wonderful vacation at the Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun!

The grounds are not as large as Playa Del Carmen or anywhere down south of Cancun, which is to be expected, but are beautiful surroundings. The resort has two main pools and a smaller third pool on the third floor. The two larger pools have swim up bars and are on opposite sides of the resort. This is great so when the sun is no longer on the beach side, you can retreat to the other side of the resort for the sunset. There are also huts on the lagoon side as well that we used to eat lunch or hang out in the shade.

The pool bars, pool concierge and waiters were fabulous! They try to have towels on some of the chairs in the morning and if you sit at chairs that do not have towels, the staff will bring the towels to you or just ask. They will put some water on ice or any beverage you choose by your chairs. The wait staff comes around frequently and keeps the beverages coming! Thank you Jorge, Fernando, Noemi and Lucy for your excellent service!

The entertainment staff has activities you can do through out your day. Every evening there will be a schedule for the next day events such as Spanish lessons, painting, water aerobics, volleyball and karaoke. The staff will also come around the pools to see if you are interested in joining. They keep you active, if you choose, and are great people to meet. My favorites were the water aerobics, the black jack night, salsa night and releasing the baby turtles out to sea. Pulina and Nancy were fabulous entertainers. Alfonso and Sebastian - thank you for the memorable laughs and the excellent job you do!!

Since there are many pictures of the rooms, you probably know how they look. The shower has two showerheads and the Jacuzzi is relaxing which looks over the beach if you are in a honeymoon suite, ocean view. The butler will offer you aromatherapy in different scents, if you would like, and there is a menu for aromatherapy along with your pillow menu. We did not use our butler as much as the company we came to Le Blanc with. Our company stated they loved to have their tub filled at a certain time every evening and ordered different pillows as well. They loved the service!!

The food is excellent for an all-inclusive resort. For lunch you can eat at the International restaurant where there is a grand buffet. You can choose fish or meat, uncooked, and bring it over to the chef and he will prepare your food to your liking. There is soo much food at the buffet along with great desserts. Sorry, I skipped breakfast – never made it! You can also order lunch around the pool off a menu that offers pub style food. This was good to munch on through out the day! There is a restaurant outside on the third floor that makes delicious pizza that you need to try as well!

We ate dinner at all the restaurants except for the French. Everything we had was great but it depends on your taste for food. The beef fillet was excellent at the International along with the crab cakes! You can even order anything for room service! Since we knew what most of the restaurants offered, one evening we ordered room service of our favorite foods from each restaurant.

Late night there is entertainment on the third level bar. Every evening they offer different entertainment. We also hung around the lobby bar as well and need to thank Stephanie for all her great service! She was willing to get us dinner from one of the restaurants and eat where ever we wanted!!

This resort is more than others but I believe the food, drinks and service make up for the extra money spent. Also, remember that a vacation is what you make of it and if you can not have a great time in paradise than you might as well stay home!!

From the moment you get out of the vehicle, you will be pampered and in awe. If you are worried - stop. I didn't know anything about traveling to a foreign country and was afraid of getting a crappy hotel -- this place is beautiful, gorgeous, awesome...WOW! I don't want to ruin your surprise by details...just know that you'll love it. My suggestion: convert your American $$ to pesos (or at least get smaller American bills - it costs money to convert to smaller bills and if you pay with Dollars, you get change in pesos). Tip often ($5-$15 or 50 pesos-150 pesos) and you'll be pampered even more. Some of the tourist trips are already included in your bill - call hotel before going to find out (Chichen Itza, Jungle, zip line, and a few more were included..tulum wasn't). GO -- HAVE FUN!

The room and grounds are beautiful. I missed not having my own balcony. The beach was nice if you like the sand. The pools are a bit small. The butler was nice, but not really necessary. The Spa was VERY nice. The food was mediocre and the service staff was not up to other Palace standards. The lobby was unusual, desks rather than a counter. It was very relaxing, but seemed to have no life in it. I have stayed in several of the Palace resorts and loved them, but I would never stay at this one again.

itz just customer service, the old fashioned way.

sure, the "whole picture" is spectacular.
however, it is the little things that make a resort 5-STAR.

we went for an anniversary getaway.
when the butler was there, he pushed the button for the elevator
in anticipation of us. ok. cool. i can push a button.
i had no hot water for first 3 days.
they "forgot" me in the spa. my husband was finished when i was getting started.

my tequila dispenser did not work.
they gave me a pepper shaker with no pepper with my breakfast.
do not order sausage for breakfast, unless you like HOT DOGS.

dinner took forever in the continental and we were the only people in the restaurant.
italian was ok. i am italian. do not like the mexican take on italian sauce.

we had to pick up our own towels at the pool.
when the other patrons started coming out to the pool,
the staff started handing them out.
the bar staff at the lagoon pool was incredible.
the gardening was incredible.
the pool could have been cleaner.

but just little 'slips' like this irritate me.

i did NOT like the fact that they kept calling every morning to see how we were
and what we were doing every day.
i've stayed all over the world. i've stayed in very posh places and i've stayed
in "dumps" . i felt this hotel was average. this is what customer service used to be...
this is a smaller resort. intimate feel.
you get to know the other people.
the shops were great with good prices. senor frogs is a 10-minute walk.

we stayed here because of the positive reviews.
however, since when did we have to start spending top dollar
for good ole fashioned customer service?
if this resort is the best on cancun, then what about the others?
i bet they had hot water...

When Le Blanc calls itself a spa resort, it's not joking around. From the soft music that plays in the public areas, to the complimentary in-room aromatherapy, to the pristine spa-inspired decor, this place is 100% relaxation. Don't go here expecting loud parties at the bar or a dance club on the first floor - this place is about escaping life for a while.

We give this resort a full five stars, and would definitely go there again. But for the sake of being picky and honest, please note the following:

Rooms:
Honestly, they're smaller than I thought they would be, but they are pristine and have a good layout. Unless you get the top floor suites, they have no balcony to speak of (-just about a foot of space outside the sliding doors). Be aware that leaving your balcony doors open will cause a build-up of condensation, making your floors very slippery. The double showers were nice, but regulating the water temperature was a little shotty.

Food:
We would give the food 4 out of 5 stars. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, and we're all about trying new things, but we were wanting familiar foods by the end of it. They take food presentation very seriously - the dishes look wonderful! But the small/artistic portions were wearing. Meals tend to take longer than they would in america because of all the small, various courses. (Don't do the sampler menu at the French Restaurant unless you have at least two hours to kill. Go with the ala carte menu there for a faster meal.) We were also surprised at the poor quality of the fruit at the breakfast buffett. We had heard that Cancun was the place to go for outstandingly fresh, delicious fruit. We could get better fruit here in Chicago.

Bars:
We had no problems with the bars, and the bartenders know what they're doing. We were craving some lesser-known drinks and the bartenders all knew exactly what we wanted.

Pools/Beach:
The pools are pristine - we can't rave enough about them. The beach was under construction when we were there, but it was still absolutely pristine. No seaweed whatsoever. The waves were a bit high, which are fun for jumping into... just watch out for the riptide. We understand that they're building a breakwall to help with that.

Hotel Entertainment:
Every night during turn-down service, a schedule of the following day's events is left on your bed. Now, most of these are kinda cheesy, like a hotel spanish lesson or horseshoe tournaments, etc. But watch for the Fire Show. It seems to occur every Thursday night at 9:30pm, and it is INCREDIBLE. Get a close seat.

Spa:
The hot stone massage is well worth your money and isn't much more than what we would pay for one in metro Chicago.

Tours:
There are a number of tours that came complimentary with our booking. We did the Jungle tour and the Tulum tour. We would recommend both, but note the following: The Jungle Tour would be better named the "Bayou Tour." You don't go into anything even remotely jungle-like. You are given your own personal speedboat (which is fun), are navigated through the marshes, and out to a snorkeling site (which is so-so). We had fun, but it wasn't what we were expecting. The Tulum tour is what you would expect and was a day well spent. The beach isn't as pretty as we were told it would be (it's packed with seaweed). But the ruins are pretty and the eco-resort is comfortable.

All this being said, we would go back to LeBlanc in an instant. The service is impeccable, the site/location outstanding, and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
