I won't make this too long, suffice to say that this hotel is fantastic. We regularly stay in 5* Spa hotels (Maldives, Bali, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc) and this was easily among the best.
When we arrived we were given $2,500 in hotel credits of which we could spend $800 in the Spa and an unlimited amount on excursions and upgrades (upgraded wine list, upgraded room, etc).
When these guys say 'All Inclusive', they really mean it. Not just local brands but premium international spirits, international wines, a two dozen bottle wine list all included in the price, only the really flash wines were extra, and you could buy those with your hotel credits. Greygoose Martini at the pool bar, included, imported Italian Chianti at dinner, included, international beer and a bottle of each: Absolute/Bacardi/Tequila and Johnny Walker in your mini-bar, all included!
A butler service on every floor meant that nothing was ever too much trouble. Can we have a bottle of wine delivered to our room and our Jucuzi filled for 9pm please so we can go off and have dinner in one of the four world class international restaurants (all included); no problem, consider it done.
On the beach or by the pool was the same. We'd like to sit 20 yards to the left of everyone else and have two parasols, please: no problem. Two coctails on the beach, no problem. Lunch, picked from a diverse menu, brought to your sun lounger and served on crockery with proper cutlery and cotton napkins, no problem.
And all of this service seemed unaffected by whether you tipped or not (I mean, obviously we did, but not all the time...the staff were all just genuinely friendly and helpful people).
We went on two trips, one to Chichen Itza ($129 per head - multi lingual tour guide, brand new airconditioned coach, entrance to the site and lunch all included), and even those came out of our hotel credits.
We took $600 dollars spending money and struggled to spend it, even after two weeks. Even tipping regularly we ended up using it to buy souveneirs...there was just nothing you really wanted that wasn't included.
The Hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, toilets (even the one on the beach) were all absolutely spotless at all times.
All I can say is that if you are looking at this hotel as a holiday destination: GO!
