This is a good budget-friendly hotel. The staff is very friendly especially waiter Roberto and bartender Freddy. Since it was the low season the "Little Italy" restaurant was closed but we enjoyed the variety of food at the "El Mirador" buffet restaurant and the "Restaurante Mediterráneo". The snack bar near the pool had standard hamburgers, hot dogs, and cheese nachos.

The room was clean and shower was always hot. The AC was sufficient. There was an iron, ironing board, and two bathrobes in the closet.

The exchange rate was low (only $11.00 pesos for U.S. dollar) at the lobby desk so get your money exchanged somewhere else. If you get a safe key and lock you have to leave a deposit. If you leave the deposit in U.S. dollars ($46.00) you get the deposit back in pesos.

Beware the service desk person. They are only there to try and get you to sign up for a condo promotion.

The hotel is in a good location away from all the restaurants and bars but $7.50 pesos will get you a one-way bus ride to town.

We noticed a couple of tourists picking up trash during their walk on the beach. A simple way to help the environment - one that we adopted on our beach walks.

We took the Albatross catamaran snorkel tour to the Isles De Mujeres - that was a lot of fun. Open bar on the catamaran, lunch buffett on a beautiful beach and shopping in town.

The hotel lobby has free Wi-Fi. Also, Also, Air Margaritaville in the Cancun airport has free Wi-Fi, ask your waitress for the password.

I just got back tonight- So here are my complaints. 1) the hot tub was out of service 2) the free snorkling isn't free 3) the AC hardly works- cooler outside so open the windows 4) Very small choice in foods provided- about 1/4 what other similar "all inclusives" offer 5) nightly shows were cancelled altho' they did have a 3 piece band in the lobby one night..6) Holloween show postponed until Sunday-Nov 1st 7) They push-push-push outside packages, medical insurance, spa, massages, and more. My 13th trip and think altho' this was OK (nice location, beach and room) it was no real deal that did not live up to expectations..other similar hotels in Riveria Maya offer much more for your money.

We had two weeks in this hotel all for just £700.
The hotel was fantastic and right on the beach, food was great and the staff were amazing, they could not do enough for us.
The only slight disappointment was the evening entertainment, except for the 70s and 80 show, what a giggle.
Cannot wait to go back to Mexico and this hotel...

We booked the holiday back in Feb09 and the reviews of the hotel seemed great, then i checked again near the time of our departure and was shocked to see so many bad reviews!!!! This didnt feel me with confidence at all but it was too late now!!
We arrived at the hotel around 5pm. We were checked in very quickly and taken up to our room... Which was awesome!! Amazing view of both Lagoon and Sea :) Nice big room with two double beds and all looking very clean! The room was perfect for us.. we never experienced any problems with the rooms at all.
The food was excellent.. nothing too amazing but more than we expected/wanted!
Got to mention Alonso in the Lobby bar because he was so lovely... but watch out he will get you very drunk!!
The thing we loved the most was the hotels atmosphere! We made so many friends and formed a big group of us through out the holiday. We took a walk one night along to a few more hotels and they may have looked nicer than ours but none held the same atmosphere!!
We only had one problem... on our last day we had noticed while packing up that £100 pounds was missing from our room!! It was my friends birthday while we were over there and her family had sent money over in cards! We hid the money away thinking nothing of it for the rest of the holiday! We told the staff and they seemed to do everything in their power to get it back but nothing. It had to be the maid but there was no way of proving it... so my advice would be to go careful with leaving things in the hotel and dont think you dont have to worry just because you have a safety box!!
There is sooo much to do in Cancun... Dont let it fool you like it did us!! We didnt realise all the day trips we could have done! If you havent swam with dolphins yet then you have to do it... it was amazing, well worth the money (Just dont go with a hangover like we did!!) The Captain Hook night is also WELL WORTH the money!! One of the best nights we had!! The clubs there are amazing and its always worth asking them to drop the prices... one night we got into a bar and two clubs, with an open bar for 10 English pounds!! We come from Bristol and our taxi home from town is more than that!!
COCO BONGOS IS AWESOME.. enough said! The City is amazing in a Friday night!!
Buses are great and running all the time :)
100% i would go back again and 100% stay at Hotetur Beach Paradise!!!!
