Well, my husband and I both ended up with Montezuma's Revenge the last three days we were there, all the food tasted the same first three days it was good, then it all tasted leftover. To top it off our camera was stolen out of our hotel room, of course the hotel could not reimburse us or offer any consolation so we don't feel comfortable returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

We were at the Sunset Lagoon March 18 through March 23, 2005. I can't say enough about the resort. THe staff was great. Very gracious, polite and helpful. THey couldn't do enough for us. It was just what we were looking for. A very relaxing atmosphere, but yet many things to do. THey took care of all ages. It was off the beaten path of the hotel zone but yet there was easy transporation to the hotel zone if you wanted that pace or wanted to go shopping. They were in the process of remodeling, but kept that under control as to not bother the guests. THank you Sunset. If we ever return to Cancun, we want to stay with you.

If you go to Sunset Lagoon and are approached by a salesman run away, don't walk, run away as fast as you can. They will say anything to sell you a time-share. We made the mistake of buying a time-share and since then have had every promise made by the saleman broken. Do not buy from Sunset Group! You will be ripped off.

I had the pleasure of staying at the sunset lagoon resort in feb of 2003. I have so many fond memories of the vacation of a life time for me.

the staff was exceptional and i can honestly say i have bragged about my trip since i was there. Alex was an MC that really knew how to work the crowd, Terri had a special way with people especially children, PePe was so helpful when we went out to enjoy the water sports, Miguel had ladies doing water aerobics that i am sure may have never done them before ...i know i was one of them. I am not even a swimmer but with the help of a very professional scuba diving personal trainer I was able to enjoy the life of the underwater sea world. The Disc Jockey from poolside always played music that had everyone tappig their toes and swinging their hips(sorry I can't remember your name).I learned how to cha cha and was in on the dance lessons everyday.Merange Merange!!

It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. I sat beside the pool everyday and enjoyed all the ameities that the all inclusive offered. Ate pretty much when i wanted to, drank when i wanted, played when i wanted and made so many lasting memories that i will carry with me for many years to come. I made a lot of lasting friendships with other hotel guests and staff alike . By the second day we were calling each other by first names. It was so wonderful!

As like some of the other reviews I too had been hasseled in the beginnig by the time share people but i politely told them that i was not interested and I did not accept any "free" gifts as i did not want them to waste my time nor did i want to waste theirs.

The nightly shows were exceptional ...like nothing i had ever seen before and the staff where curtious enough to take a group of us out to enjoy the night life that Cancun had to offer. My favorite was cocobongo.

I did enjoy the food but as with some of the other guests was a little disappointed that there was not a little more mexican food....just to be able to try it! The waiters were wonderful and always met us at the entrance and took us by the arm and led us to our table.

The gentleman at poolside doing the braids in the guests hair was an absolute pleasure to be aroud. We had so many laughs with him and he shared pictures of his family with us and we even met his wife.

Alex gave us wonderful directions for our shopping excursion . He was there all the time I even asked him one day if he ever went home or if his day ever ended. The staff were there when we went to bed and were there when we got up in the morning.They were always ready to make a memoriable day.

I could go on and on about all the wonderful memories that i brought home with me. I would certainly recommend this place and I have done so. I will be back again....someday!

Thanks to all the staff for making us feel so at home and so welcome in a place that was so far away from home for me. I had been told by my friend when we first considered going that some people are really sad when they leave mexico and i thought"how is it possible after only one week?"

I danced my way ....literally....to the shuttle bus that would take us back to the airport and as we drove away I had tears in my eyes. Happy tears for all the fun that i had...sad tears for all the people that i may not see againand would surely miss......

sunset lagoon ...it is what you make it! I chose to make it a wonderful vacation spot....and it was!
