My friend and I arrived to the Grand Oasis late at night. After we checked in, we weren't offered any help with our bags. We had to find someone to help us. The lighting was poor and we couldn't read the signs. The map they gave has was poorly copied, and very hard to read, to know how to get anywhere!
All the floors are marble, not only did my friends slip and fall, but I heard from other travellers who had fallen and had been giving nothing (drugs) unless they paid for it out of there own hands!
I had put on my door "No Service" I went back to my room a few hours later and I saw the maids cleaning. I showed them the sign that was on, and told them to get out. I stormed to the front desk and told them. Remember if you put on the "No Service" you still may get service.
Make sure if you don't have a black rist band, upgrade to it!! Its well worth it. The black bands let you have all access to all the resturants. All ther resturants were amazing.

Every Thursday night the have a "FoamParty", if you have a purple bracelet you have to pay $40 american to get in.

I love music, but I didn't like the djs at the pool when they played Rap. I think they should of thought of all ages there, and played music that would of made everyone happy.

Serive was great. If this is your first tropical trip you would find it amazing. If it isn't it won't be the top hotels you've stayed at.

Just got back from a week and a great time was had by all. I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews but I have to say I'm not sure what they were complaining about.

We were originally scheduled to stay at the Grand Oasis Playa but got moved due to the closure of that facility. Everything went smoothly at check in with no hassle and we were in our rooms prior to the check-in time. Our rooms were in the main tower which was convenient to everything. Rooms were clean and the fridge was stocked daily. Never had to ask for anything.

Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Food was good, nothing great. They only had one snack bar open to get hamburgers and hot dogs, so we did the buffet most days at lunch. They always had a nice selection and breakfast at the buffet was great.

Pools were huge. We had no problems finding chairs, no matter what time of the day we were there. Service at the pool bar was great. Never had to wait long for drinks. Made a couple trips down to the beach. Red flags were up the week we were there but we managed to walk up and down the beach and the water was nice and warm.

The only problem we had was with Best Day Travel and our transfers when we got to Cancun. Due to a change in plans, one of the four of us was coming later and that seemed to throw them off. We finally got them to understand that but the rep at the resort was actually rather rude when we got there and we told him we would get back with him regarding transportation back to the airport. We told him later that night that we would not need their services upon departure and made arrangements for a taxi. They called several times during the week and actually the morning we left to tell us we missed the shuttle. In the future, I would just take a taxi as it wasn't that expensive.

You have to go to the Foam Party at the disco! It was one of the highlights of our week in Cancun.

I would not hesitate to stay here next time I'm in Cancun.

Amazing hotel!! I traveled with my boyfriend and we loved it! Make sure to stay in the main pyramid building, as the others are old and poorly maintained. Also, be sure to stay at the Grand Oasis and get the black wristband that will get you all the alcohol and restaurants.

The restaurants are plentiful, more than in other resorts. My favorite was the mediteranean, Dos Lunas, the Asian Akeru and the seafood restaurant because it had an amazing ocean view. Lunchtime sushi by the pool was also great. For dinner, come early or wait in huge lines to get in the restaurants.

The pool was huge, the problem was the beach. Very rocky and waves make it impossible to go in.

The club was fun, good music and the best was the thursday night foam party.

Take advantage of the bus that stops in front of the hotel to go to downtown cancun its like 60 cents a ride and gets you there in 15 minutes!

We have now stayed at the Grand Oasis for two years in a row. In 2008 we had a great experience; however, I stupidly decided to try another resort for 2009. That lasted for one night before we moved to the Grand Oasis. The place is awesome. The service is the best I have ever experienced. I have literally travelled all over the world and never experienced anything better than this. Please do not consider any of the negative reviews of this place. If there is a problem for someone at this place, the problem is probably not the resort's fault.
