We experienced first-rate service at this wonderful hotel, from the bell hops, reservation desk clerk, maid, bar tender, food servers, even the conceirge.

Our room was simple, air conditioned, very clean and fresh smelling. The beds were comfortable sleeping. Flat screen television with many channels in English.

We visited the Sunset Laguna for brunch and the Sunset Royal for breakfast, but our opinion is that the best foos we were served was at the Ocean Spa. Both in the buffet and at Frida, where we had the most delicious grilled losbster and filet mignon dinner.
We went all-inclusive, so we tried many items to eat and several non-alcoholic drinks. All were tastefully prepared and very palatable.

When we wanted to swim in the ocean we went to the Sunset Royal, but for the most part our relaxing around and in the pool at the Ocean Spa was our favorite location. Towels were provided at both places. No tipping was expected. That does not affect the service you get. They deserved it though

Shuttle service was on time between the hotels and when we wanted a taxi one was always available for shopping at the markets.

I enjoyed the painting of ceramics that was provided at Ocean Spa and Laguna both. Came back with two items I will treasure always.

Yes, we plan to go back next year. Yes, we will go to Ocean Spa.

We went through Sams' club and upgraded to all inclusive. The room was bone basic, but clean. The view was of the court yard which was nice. The restaurant, by the pool side, was very good and had a nice selection. The main dining room food was excellent. There wasn't a large choice of different dishes for the main course, but what they had fish, chicken,or beef,was delicious. For what we paid we were satisfied.

There were so many things that went wrong with this place I really don't know where to begin. I am a very seasoned traveler and this was the worst experience of my life. Service was horrible, food was ok, location of resort is horrible, facilities are below average, and the games they play to sell you stuff is unspeakable. they will insult you to get you to buy something. Comments like "what are you afraid of committment?". I just got married, bought a house and are trying to have kids. Pretty sure I am not afraid of committment Senior. I have listed out some of the fun we had with Ocean spa hotel below.

A. air conditioning didn't work the first day. They just kept saying it would be an hour senior. it took over 12 hours. I was told by other guests it had been not working well earlier in the week either.
B. 1st room they gave us was stinky, old and had a palm tree out the window so you could not see a thing. We walked back to talk about the room and they say they may have another rooom available but it costs more. We paid the upgrade. Hotel was at 50% occupancy at best. Most times the pool had 5-10 people in it. We had to spend $50 more a night to get the room that was liveable but had many of its own problems.
C. Resort is in a dirty lagoon area of cancun so you have no ocean to swim in.
D. We were offered drugs on the shore of the beach with staff members standing near by. Great level of comfort you get from that.
E. Patio door didn't work in our room. We were on ground floor and it didn't lock.
F. Toilet broke the second Day.
G. Safe broke the 3rd day.
H. Remote control on TV broke the 4th day.
I. Staff at concierge desk only cared about what they could sell you, not what was good for you. (except one person we did like) They sold us a trip to the ruins that was supposed to be on a big air conditioned bus. We were packed in a passenger van. I even asked when we booked, are you sure it is a nice big bus. "I don't want to be packed in a small van.

Never buy the package from the Cancun Travel Unlimited/Marketing 4 Sunset Group. It is the most frustrating experience of my many many travels. Each time I call to make reservations the dates are never available, even when I call 60-90 days in advance. Additionally they keep adding on charges (100+) from the hotel, saying it's taxes from the hotel; this was never agreed upon when I purchased the package. All costs were included when I asked the rep. I still can't get a reservation and this is very very frustrating.
