I stayed at the BBC in May 2008 for a week & we had a great time but felt for the length of the flight it was a bit short so this year decided to stay for 14 nights.

Check in was fast & efficient, the room was great with a wonderful view of the sea & beach, the staff were their usual friendly selves & go out of their way to be helpful. They are especially good with young children, my son is three & a half years old & they really spoilt him rotten.
I read a lot of the reviews & always see people moaning about tipping the staff, the way that I see it is that the staff don't earn much & took two hundred dollars in ones to tip staff with, it did not get me any better service than the guests who did not tip but one or two dollars here or there makes a lot of difference to their lives. I also left three dollars a day for the room maid & any local change that I had.

I really enjoy the BBC, sure you are not in the hotel zone but are surrounded by some really nice local restaurants that are cheap & very good, it also only costs about 200 Mexican pesos to get to the hotel zone if you speak to the taxi drivers across the road, just ask for "Dog or Ricardo & they will give you the best advice & will look after you. We went to the Walmart a couple of times & Dog actually helped us with the shopping & returned us to the hotel, all for twenty dollars.
If you are keen on fishing from a beach then it would be a good idea to speak to either "Dog or Ricardo" as they took me Night fishing to a wonderful spot & are keen on fishing themselves.

I have no hesitation in recommending the BBC & the only gripe that I had was the quality of the food was not as good as our previous visit last year, having said that I am already planning my next trip because it feels like a home from home.

just be yourself and enjoy the shows the staff and the fun. I have been there 6 times and are planning my 7th. I have also travelled out to the Far East Europe and USA.

This is an excellent hotel, the staff are fantastic, the hotel is exceptionally clean and the location is just right. It is quiet and away from the main strip but within easy reach in a taxi or by bus for a more lively area of Cancun. The entertainment crew are always busy with activities or are trying to keep you entertained but are not pushy. Concierge/front desk are polite, very helpful and will solve any problems you may have. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a safe which only costs £2 a day. The rooms have a bath and shower, iron/ironing board, fridge, hairdrier so are really well equipped. The security is good and you always feel safe. Pool very clean so is the beach, yes there is sea weed but it is cleared daily. Local trips are available from Thomas Cook but these are cheaper from the pool towel guys or from the ferry terminal just 5-10 minutes walk down the road.
Turtles, dolphins etc all accessible from trips although you may see these just in the sea. This hotel is fantastic, we had an excelent holiday and would recommend this to everyone.

We have been to the caribbean 3 times now and i have to say that this was by far the best holiday we have had. The Blue Bay Club hotel is exactly how you see it on virtual tour. The staff are friendly and very helpfull and the security is fantastic. The hotel staff will do anything to resolve any problems that you may incurr. With regards to some of the complaints that i have read on here i think that some people are bloody stupid blaming the hotel for seaweed and mosquitos, lke they can be held responsible for anything that is nature. As for wasps well if anyone was wise enough they would know that they are actually bees. Yes there are alot around the pool bar but do not bother anyone as they are only after the sugar, we have had bees on us and no-one whilst we were there got stung. The entertainment was great having shows every monday, wednesday, and friday. We enjoyed the holiday so much that we have already booked to go again next year, and i think people should complain about things that are under the control of the hotel and stop picking at things that are not. As for the holiday rep Charlene she was very nice and helpfull and again gets alot of verbal abue from tourists for things that are not her fault, she is there to help and will help if spoken to in the correct manner. The best barman is definately Orlando, very cheerfull and polite was the best there for us.
