Me and my girlfrend were looking for a not so expensive trip too cancun. We are from the netherlands. We checked out the reviews before us. So when we arrived at the hotel. We were very suprised! The room was oke and the view was stunning! When you close the balcony door then you will not hear the beats coming from the party centrum! A supermarket is within walking distance. The only thing that we didn´t like very much. Was the acces too the beatch. We loved it in cancun!

[Slightly] off the beaten path - perfect if you do not hear low tones

If you are a thrifty traveler and want to be in the hotel zone (ie: you are not primarily traveling to experience Mexican or Mayan cultures) this may be the place for you.

Pros:
A couple of blocks off the hotel zone highway (literally)
On the lagoon - not the ocean, but a nice view.
Quiet pool and lounge area (no shallow pool area for kids)
Fridge, two burner stove, and sink that work.
Air Conditioning (although it was nice and breezy while we were there)
Friendly, helpful staff.

Cons:
Room lighting - which is not really that big of deal.
The pulsing beat of trance music coming from the discos across the lagoon from 10pm-ish to 7am-ish.

This would be an especially good deal if you are not extra-sensitive to rhythmic low tones that are a long distance away. When I read the reviews before we left, only a few people had mentioned anything about noise, so I wasn't too concerned. However it was annoying - some nights worse than others. If you don't mind ear plugs, that will probably solve the problem for most people. Personally, I like trance, just not while I'm trying to sleep.

If you are looking for a more off-the-beaten-path trip. Here is the advice I'm giving myself for my next trip to the Yucatan: fly into Cancun cheaply and book something anywhere but Cancun or the Hotel Zone. Pick up a travel book, read it, and choose your hotel based on what you want your experience to be.

I am writing this review because I used this website extensively researching rates and hotels. This is the perfect budget hotel if you want to save a few bucks but don't want to be too cheap and pick a downtown hotel. When going to Cancun you really don't want a downtown hotel. This hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main strip and all the clubs. There are beaches in walking distance and there are small and REALLY cheap restaurants nearby with authentic Mexican food, if your into that type of thing. The hotel has a really nice restaurant with beautiful lagoon views. My only criticism is that about three days in we noticed really tiny bugs on the counter but since we didn't eat in the room and all our clothes remained in out suitcases this was not a problem, for us at least. Perfect affordable hotel if you intend to be out and about most of the time and need a nice place to rest your head.

P.S. The internet was always out so I could never check Facebook!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks, we really enjoyed our stay.
The room was clean, the bathroom a little bit "old" , but clean.
This is a budget hotel, do not accept too much, you will get what you pay for.
About a 30 minutes walk from the centre , 10-15 minutes from the closest beach (you can walk through any of the hotels to get to the beach )
We hired a car , so the distance was no problem for us.
But next time, I would book a hotel next to the beach, however I had a nice time in this hotel, but the beach worth the extra money.

This hotel is great if you are on a budget and don't mind not being on the beach. I took my 17 year old daughter and her friend for a week in Cancun and it was great for us. The room was plain but reasonably clean and felt safe, yes the beds are hard. We liked having the fridge and the little strip mall just up the road had a grocery store, pharmacy and a couple of little restaurants that were great. We loved the fish and shrimp tacos.
It was pretty quiet when we were there, just one night there was loud music but the staff acted quickly when I complained. There pool was lovely and usually vacant.

To get to one of the best beaches in Cancun, just walk across the street and go through one of the hotel lobbies. I went through the Presidente. It is within walking distance to the Coco Bongo and The City clubs.

The staff were nice and helpful but watch out for the time-share lady, Narda, she is not a hotel employee (she told us she was) and we had some trouble with one of the trips she booked for us.

  • Liked — price, fridge, location
  • Disliked — not on the beach
