“Fabulous!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Just returned from a short stay at the Grand Park Royal and all I can say is WOW! Absolutely first class resort. Immaculately clean. Food and drinks were outstanding. If there's anything that I would change it would be the addition of some evening entertainment/nightlife.

Room Tip: Upgraded to premier tower after we arrived. Good choice.

I'd like to start off by saying that my husband and I went here in August of 2012 so it's been several months since our trip but none the less, it was amazing! After reading and reading reviews, I-yes I, decided to bite the bullet and reserve this resort. I am so beyond happy I chose this particular one. The staff, food, rooms, beach, drinks and all were amazing. So many restaurants to pick from at the resort and nearby. The ice cream parlor at the resort was my fave, stopped daily lol. My husbands one and only complaint is he could never find bacon on the breakfast buffet haha. The water and beach area were absolutley amazing and someone was always there to help and make sure you had a great time.

Room Tip: It is definitley worth the money to pay for Ocean view upgrade!!!

I have stayed at this resort before, it was always cozy and comfortable..The food is great. The staff is even better. The entertainment staff is lots of fun, we had yoga with Monique. And the beach is wide and spacious with the best sand in all of Mexico. We will be back next year for sure!

My best friend and I chose the Grand Park Royal because of the photos people have posted and the good reviews and I have to agree! The restaurants and staff and the rooms were just as I expected.... fantastic. The entertainment during the day were really good our favourite person was Monique, with all her jokes and always with a smile!! and bartenders at Premier pool bar were the best.Especially Roberto... He´ll make youwhat ever drink you want. The staff were so friendly and really take pride in the work. I totally recommend this hotel and would stay there again for sure

There is not enough I can say about this hotel. It was amazing. I would definately recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great and memorable vacation to Cancun.

The hotel itself was so clean, there was always people about cleaning and maintaing, the floors, tending the gardens, cleaning the rooms, etc. They always said hello and or smiled, would hold open doors for you and everything. We travelled in a group of 6 (three couples) and none of us had any problems with the timeshare people like many people had mentioned. We told them no right from the beginning and they didn't bother us since. Just be careful because they don't tell you that they are trying to offer you something right away, they mention that they have benefits for the hotel like free wifi for the week that you need to deal with. Just tell them no thanks and move on.

The bartenders are great, especially Jorge at the beach bar and Miguel at the Lounge Bar. They kept the drinks coming, they were delicious and plentiful and were anything but watered down. The rest of the entertainment staff was awesome as well, Monique and Jorge kept us entertained and called us by our name the entire week after meeting us once. They are all so welcoming and friendly. The entertainment staff definately goes above and beyond. A few examples: The bar takes guests to a different bar every night of the week and escorts them in and gives them a special VIP area for them jfor safety. The one night we went out they stayed with a girl who had difficulty walking, gave her a great place to enjoy the show and stayed till about 2am, even though they are only responsible to get us there. Another example was when I saw two of the the staff pushing a gentlemen in a wheelchair down the beach so he could go see the water. That level of service is incredible.

The food was the best I have ever had on a resort. So much variety and different everyday. It had so much flavor and such care was put into the presentation. The waiters were great and always around to get you a drink, remove your plates or make you laugh. We also had room service a couple times, it was a little slow but still delicious.

Our room was awesome...it doesn't matter which room you have you will see the ocean. The ground level has a nice deck and little grass area. The only complaint I would say we had was the pillows, all of us had hard lumpy pillows that were a little hard to sleep on. My finance had a sore neck after sleeping on them for a couple of days. I'm sure though had we called, they would have brought us new ones but we never bothered.

The pools were nice, a little cold but nice and refreshing when it got too hot outside. Although to be honest I'm not sure why people were even at the pool...the beach was breath-taking. It was such nice soft white sand, lots of beach chairs, and warm turquoise water. None of us could understand why most people stayed up by the pool when the beach was so much nicer. Either way we took full advantage and had it pretty much to ourself.

Our group was asked to take part in a managers cocktail meeting which is where they invite about 20 or so guests to a gathering to ask about their stay, what they liked, if they had any issues, etc to constantly try and make new improvements to make it more accommodating to future guests. The level of service will be hard to beat.

All in all this hotel was perfect. There isn't anything worth complaining about, and if you have an issue you can call and I'm sure that the situation would be resolved no problem. If we were to go back to Cancun, we would definately stay at the Grand Park Royal again.

Room Tip: All rooms can see the ocean. The rooms on the first floor have a terrace, table, chairs and a little...

We traveled to this hotel from January 26th to February 2nd with 3 couples. First the few small complaints that we had, there really is nothing to do after dinnertime. The main lobby is too small and doesn't have much seating. It was filled with children and families, the entertainment was Bingo, a Magic Show, Karaoke. The only other option was the Equinox bar, which was very nice, but only had piped in music and was very dark.
Aside from that, we all loved the resort. The buffet was fabulous, the best we have ever had at any all-inclusive we have stayed at. We chose to sit outside for the meals we had there and loved it. I think our breakfast waiter was named Ivan and he was always smiling and very attentive. Just wish they would ease the dress code there, men have to wear shirts with sleeves. The Oriental restaurant was very pretty, but so dimly lit we couldn't read the menus without a cell phone light. It wasn't our kind of food, only one in our group enjoyed what she ordered. But the Italian was excellent! Our first night reservations got lost somehow but the head wait staff had us seated within 10 minutes and we had wonderful service and food. Our waiter Roberto was so much fun, when we next returned we asked for his table. Also Angel was very attentive and they both remembered our drinks from the first night. room service was prompt and good, liked the fish fingers. The Hamburgers/Hotdogs stand was very good, and the pizza stand was a nice change and tasty. The small seafood restaurant was super good at lunch.
We stayed at the quiet pool during the day, the water was a little cold, but you have a whole ocean to swim in! The bartenders at the swim up bar were great, we loved Roberto, Alberto and Casanova. They made us some very fun shots and kept us smiling.
The room was amazing! We were upgraded from Premier Tower to the Royal Tower. The Royal Tower has a lounge that is open for a small breakfast and then again at cocktail hour with some snacks. Edgar was very attentive kept our champagne glasses full and even ran to the pool bar to get us drinks that was not stocked in the lounge. The grounds and rooms are so clean, you always see someone cleaning. Then on the last night we were there they had a small cocktail party for a few of their guests. It was headed by Carlos, the manager and we met all the heads of every department. They asked our opinions on everything and truely wanted to hear our feedback, both good and bad. We were very impressed with this being the first resort we have ever stayed at that did care this much.
You really cannot go wrong at this resort. The rooms are fabulous, the beach amazing, the grounds immaculate and food and drink plentiful! Go and enjoy!!!!!
You really can't go wrong at this resort. And the guys settled for Jack Daniels. :)

Hard to fault this extremely good all inclusive. The setting is magnificent -right on the beach. Food was ample, varied and delicious! Drinks - all premium brands and excellently made. House wine extremely palatable.

Service excellent throughout. We didn't rate the menu or the cooking at the Asian restaurant very highly but the Italian was superb. The strictly enforced booking system was a bit boring, though.

We managed to eat outside for all our visits to the main buffet restaurant which was just as well as I found the interior to be rather like a works canteen with harsh lighting and basic tables. Outside though = wonderful!.

We travelled as a family - self and wife with son and daughter in-law and we all agreed it was a wonderfully relaxing. break - taking in Christmas Day!.

Considering the amount of hot sunshine around, it is baffling to me that the swimming pools were often far from pleasantly warm - even downright cold at times. Why hotels like this don't invest in solar heating beats me but they don't! The sea, in contrast, was just perfect.
Strange that the gym was an "extra" but, given its small size, probably just as well. Free internet would have been nice.

Staff were wonderful but it certainly does no harm to leave a small tip now and again. Have a good supply of one dollar notes to hand!.
Unlike some reviewers. we suffered no noise problems (although the somewhat forced "fun and games" arranged by the entertainment staff around the main pool did get a touch tedious) and were not pestered by the timeshare lot once they knew we were from England.

A nice farewell touch, typical of the hotel's attitude, was to allow us use the all inclusive facilities until the moment we departed..

We would certainly go back again!

Room Tip: Ocean view obviously the best!
