I want to preface this review by saying most of the negative reviews are just because of 2 things.... People expect to be treated Kings and Queens when they travel and think that they can do as they please and the hotels should change their rules to fit their needs. The hotel has some picky rules but if you read the reviews and check their website you should be well prepared to anticipate what you would be expected to do.

My wife and I have been to 3 All-Inclusive resorts through Mexcio and the Dominican and we thought this was the BEST. We went for 4 days on a quick trip and planned it only 4 weeks in advance. We were looking for somewhere that had the beach, pool, and a room we could just sit back and relax in and this was the place.

Rooms were emaculate. We came in from the pool one day and our floor was covered in water and soap and a young lady was cleaning the tile by hand in some areas. I never noticed a single smell through out the resort and never had any issues with anything we dealt with regarding the rooms. Our room safe did stop working because the batteries had died and we called the front desk and someone came right over and replaced them.

The pools were so much fun. If you hang at the "Fiesta" pool you will be asked to participate in many fun games. I thought the infinity pool (the quiet pool) was just as fun, but I think it is because the swim up bar is the infinity pool.The poos are cleaned daily at 6am. I know this because I was up early and just walking around the beach each morning and there was literally a crew of guys cleaning up around the pool and the pool itself. That brings me to say that their are so many nice hard working people at this resort. The only thing I think they could have improved on was the front desk staff. They just seemed impartial to anyone checking in or out, but that doesnt have bearing on my ability to have a good time.

Food was amazing. Breakfast every morning at the buffet was some of the best I've had. I am a big breakfast guy and make full blow southern breakfasts around our house and I thought they had breakfast just right. Lunches were good at the Concha, seafood restaurant at the pool and we also ate at the snack bars a few times. Good Burgers! Dinner was really good as well. We ate once at the buffet, once at the Oriental and once at the Italian. You have to go between 12-3 each day and make a reservation for the restaurant you want to eat at that evening. To go against what some reviews say I will tell you we meet a couple one night and had reservations for 2 and had it changed to 4 during the 12-3 time frame. We ran into a group of party people from Canada and let time slip away. Our reservations were for 6:30 and we did not get there until 7:15 and we were seated and had no issues. If we had not been able to be seated we would have gone over to the Buffet and been fine. Its all-inclusive people, just go to the buffet or order room service if you dont like your dinner or cant get a reservation.

We did not leave the resort because we did not have much time there, but those who did said they had a blast. Nightly trips to the bars in Cancun with the entertainment staff and on site activites give you plenty to do if you want to stay busy. We just wanted to relax and get some sun and leave our phones at home.

You will not be disappointed if you read the reviews and have a mind set of vacation and not

At the grand caribe their were the most amazing workers that REALLY made you feel like you were welcomed into their country. They were very kind and courteous, and their looks werent to bad either! Their names were Eduardo and Evian and they work at the Oki Splash. Everyone should realy check this place out. It was all inclusive and definatly worth it. By the end of my stay it was so hard to say "Hasta Luego"!

I was there from 5/2 - 5/6. The staff were great along with the restuarant and food. The enterainment staff at the larger pool kept us very entertained! Diego remembered our names and was very funny. I was also impressed that Fernando from the pool bar also remembered my name. The place was very clean, and any requests made were completed in a timely manner. They do pressure you a little to check out another property, but we were able to tell them all we wanted to do was lay by the pool for the next few days and had no interest in the other property. The main draw back of the trip was the 4:00am pick up time to make our flight. We got to the airport in plenty of time, then had to sit around and wait. This had nothing to do with the hotel though. I would definitely go stay again.

The hotel was good but has many stupid non-sense rules that end pissing-off even the more tolerant non complaining customer (me). We stay there with another four couples.

First lame rule: you can not put two tables together or more to acommodate the five couples at the restaurants, why!!! (It is a rule, just because it is...)

Second lame rule: If you make a reservation for a party of ten but only two arrive on time you can not take the table. You have to wait untill everyone arrives. This does not happen even in the cheapest restaurants.

Third lame rule: you can not call to make a reservation at the restaurants you need walk by...for god sake I am on vacation and it is the minimum effort rule. And if they are hosting a big group I am sorry for you because your window for dinner is reduced from 7-10pm to 8-9pm or so. Rules changes every day...kind of Big Brother

Four lame rule: no waiters around the pool, there is a bar and you need to get by if you want any drink same at the beach noooo waiters. You need to bring your mug or else for refill...

In general they need to empower their associates and employees to take certain level of decisiones and surprise the customers/make them feel welcome and relax.

They have friendly people in the staff but also many stupid/non-sense rules some manager left years ago...I am just guessing.My advice: pay for another star and enjoy every minute of your vacation at another hotel.
