We stayed at the Radisson for the first 2 nights of our trip. It was a good price for a basic room overlooking the pool area. Wireless was free in the room and the room was clean. We did experience the musty smell and the sulfer smell some other folks mentioned, but take a long a little bottle of Febreeze and you will be fine.
The food was decent for dinner, but the Sunday breakfast was out of this world. Easily some of the most flavorful and varied dishes we had at any hotel. The dining room was full and almost everyone there was local. I recommended the Barbacoa (lamb) with fresh made tortillas. Fabulous. Room service left something to be desired. We never got a room service menu and when we asked for one, we were told we couldnt get one because they were locked up with housekeeping who had gone home. We were able to get the items listed for us but what we got was bland and a bit undercooked.
The only real downside we experienced was in relation to the A/C. We had rinsed out some clothing items and left them to dry in the bathroom. The A/C turns off when you leave the room which we were not aware. As a result, we came back to a warm, dank room where spots of mold had begun to form on some of the items and 1 bed sheet. We learned our lesson and hung items outside after that.
Taxis to and from the Hotel Zone can vary. We paid between 100-200 pesos per ride (not round trip) depending on where we were going and how late at night it was. Ask for the price before you get in. If it seems high, decline and negotiate.
