“Love the Royal Sands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012 NEW

Just returned from our fourth stay at the Royal Sands in Cancun. The resort is beautiful and the service is second to none. We have not returned to our resort in the Bahamas since we discovered Cancun and the Royal Sands. We are now owners at the Sands and plan to return for many years. My husband always makes the comment " never had a bad meal at the Royal Resorts" We love the shuttle between all five Cancun resorts. This year we took the free shopping tour to Playa Del Carmen. It was a wonderful night out and fifth street in Playa Del Carmen is very exciting. Not to mention the excellent value for shopping and a great meal. Every year I go to Mesos, located at the Royal Sands Spa, for my Botox treatment. What a great value, much less cost than in the states. Also, we have never felt "unsafe" at the Royal Resorts. We often walk to the mall (located one block away). The resort is also very family friendly. Many activities for kids, young and old. Wonderful location for weddings. There was a beautiful wedding ceremony on the beach while we were there.

Room Tip: Have stayed in phase I and II. Both have excellent views of the ocean and wonderful pools.

“Only gets Better and Better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012 NEW

We were in Cancun three weeks this year- 1 week at the Royal Mayan and 2 weeks at the Royal Sands. Both of these resorts are superior to anywhere we have ever stayed. The service cannot be compared to others and all the amenities just add to the value. There are so many nice places to eat on the properties as well as one of our favorites to walk to - La Destilleria. It has wonderful authentic mexican food. Try it!
People in the US could use some customer training from the staff at the Royals. They are the BEST.

Room Tip: We usually stay in villas in phase II - but there really are no "bad" rooms!

“stunning location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

we spent 2 weeks here and totally enjoyed every minute, the place is spotless, gardens superbly neat, the pools and beach facilities great, there were a couple of little faults, one is that the apartment did not have a washer/dryer, but there was a reasonably priced laundry room on site, but it really would benefit from these being in the apartments, also an upgrade to flat screen tv's would be an asset, the place would also benfit from a cosy type bar open in the evening, but it has a sports bar, which can become a little noisy, but it is a sports bar after all, but all in all the place is great, there is a great little takeaway, and a small supermarket, the pool bars serve good food during the day and has happy hour/hours at 4pm - 7pm daily, with great margaritas, , and our maid service was great, all the staff so polite and friendly.
It is in the middle of the hotel strip right on the beach, the bus service stops right outside and is inexpensive to anywhere along the strip, also right in the hotel grounds is Hacienda Sissal, mexican restaurant, absolutely not to be missed, great food and reasonably priced.
All in all we enjoyed our first visit to Cancun and the Royal Sands and would deffo' love to come back :)

“Seven Sun Filled Days of Bliss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

My husband and I just returned from a fantastic one week stay at the Royal Sands Resort and Spa! We had never been to Cancun before so did not really know what to expect. We do a lot of travel and somehow had not gotten around to the Yucatan Peninsula. This lovely resort hotel was beautiful both inside and out, immaculately clean and staffed by helpful and friendly people who made us feel very pampered. We had a lovely villa on the 7th floor, with breathtaking views of the ocean from our spacious covered veranda. When chosing which resort to go to, I particularly liked the way it appeared on their site...very tastefully decorated in (mostly)varying shades of green. I found this to be restful to the eyes and kept the focus on the view, rather than a riot of color inside and all around. The hotel offered a free shuttle to other
hotels in their chain along the beach for shared use of their facilities, but we were so comfortable where we were, we did not venture far this visit. Right next door to the resort is a large enclosed shopping center with very upscale shops and also another more moderately priced shopping plaza is just a short walk further on to the north. The resort has a well stocked grocery, including a pretty good selection of local wines which we enjoyed very much. The prices were very reasonable too. We enjoyed the Sands several swimming pools with swim up bars and delicous Margaritas. We also loved relaxing on our beach lounges under the shaded mini huts on the immaculately maintained beach. If you are looking for a fantastic (and romantic) place to run away to....this place is now at the top of the list of our favorite getaways!

Room Tip: Phase Two buildings overlook smaller pools and are quieter. We were there and liked that aspect of...

“OUR FAVORITE”

We come here every year and are still in awe of the beauty of the resort and ocean views. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and provides great service. Over the years they remember you and your likes/dislikes. They welcome you back to your Caribbean home and its even better than that.

Room Tip: Rooms are pre-assigned but offer ocean views. If given the opportunity see if you can get an oceanfr...
