If you want to get away and have no worries, this is the best hotel. The service was unbelievalble, the food was great at all restaurants and the view spectacular.

We had a King bed ocean view room (#518) which has two closets and a very large private bathroom. I would strongly suggest this type of room since most of the others have a tub and sinks in the bedroom. El Mercado is the buffet restaurant with seating indoors and out. Great options and service - opens at 6:30am for breakfast. Frida is the Mexican restaurant - outstanding!!! Ask to be seated outside if you want a quiet dinner. The mariachi band is very good but a little loud. Miyako requires easy to obtain reservations to sit at the chef's table. The food is incredible as is the service. Long pants, closed shoes and a collared shirt for gentlemen. You may forgo the reservations and dress code if you choose a regular table and order from the menu. The other two restaurants had great service but the food ranged from acceptable to inedible.
The beach in the Cancun area has really suffered. This was our fourth trip but the first time we have ever spent the majority of our 'water time' in the pool. The sandy area is maybe 10 feet from hotel to water and has rocks. It is this way all over the area so pack your water shoes and be prepared.
There is not a single thing to complain about this hotel. The maid service is prompt, courteous and very efficient. We always came back to a clean room with ample linens and toiletries. The staff is helpful and polite. Beds are firm but not college-dorm room hard! Nice quality sheets, large thick towels and several small area rugs that are replaced daily.
Our 17 year old son LOVED this place. There were many families with well mannered tots and a few infants. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and best of all - no drunks!
We cannot wait to return!

This was my first time to Cancun and I honestly didn't go down there with very high expectations. But believe me...everyone at the Cancun Palace made my stay the best vacation ever. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and a cold coconut scented towel. They sat us down and explained everything that was in our vacation package. We traveled with our friends who are members of the Palace Resorts so we were treated like VIP the whole entire time! They wouldn't even let us pick up our luggage out of the shuttle van...they said "You're on vacation...let us do it!". Then we went out to the pool while they got our luggage up to our room. The grounds of the hotel are immaculate. There is someone cleaning it or trimming up the greens 24/7! The rooms are amazing and they keep your fridge stocked with beer, o.j, apple juice and pop...plus you get 4 bottles of liquor in your room that they also refill. I would highly recommend getting the aromatherapy pillows and tart warmer in your room...they are heavenly! The beach was amazing and there are chairs/umbrellas for you to use and they have volleyball on the beach. Please go see Edgar at the beach bar and swing on the swings while he makes you amazing drinks. They have a brick oven for pizza at lunch time and also a grill on each side of the pool bars where you can have nachos, tacos, hamburgers, ice cream, etc. Then in the lobby bar they have a happy hour buffet before dinner and all of the restaurants are amazing! My boyfriend and I got engaged while we were down there which made it even better but we definitely want to go back next year!!!!

We found and booked this hotel through Costco.com. We couldn't have been more satisfied. My husband and I went with another couple and had a great time. A majority of the staff were amazing--very attentive. The only staff that weren't always that friendly/helpful were the front desk staff and the excursion-booking staff. Rooms were very clean and had nice amenities--fridge was always stocked with beer, juice and bottled water. We also had our own liquor cabinet with 3 different types of hard alcohol available (at no extra charge). Pools were very nice. Beach was nice, although the water was very salty and would burn your nose and eyes, so we didn't spend a lot of time in the ocean right outside the resort. Food and drinks were very good. The Italian and Japanese restaurants on the property had very good food and specialty drinks. However, guys need to wear pants (no shorts allowed) at these two restaurants. If you're looking for a hot nightlife, this is not the resort for you. It was usually pretty quiet in the evenings and not a whole lot was going on. However, with a short bus ride (~65 cents) you could ride into town and go to different clubs. The hotel spa was nice also, although I only had one opportunity to use it. I got the 80 minute therapeutic massage and it was the best massage I've ever had! Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
