“ClubMed Cancun, Yucatan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2009

Few days ago we just got back from ClubMed Yucatan in Cancun.
What a great all-inclusive resort!! The best vacation we've had! My 6-year-old daughter had so much fun! The staff was excellent, food was exceptional and weather was great.
Club room was good, maybe juts needed some small renovation. We only used our room to change and to sleep. Although extra fee $30.00 per day we decided to pay for the sea view is worth it!!!!

We definitely will go back in a heartbeat

We just returned from a fabulous 8 night stay with our four children ages 9-15. The resort has a perfect spot with swimming, snorkelling and water-ski areas. There was always something fun to do-the kids loved the trapeze, catamarans, snorkelling. They also had fun with the other activities always going on-bingo, mechanical bull, ping-pong and tennis tournaments, etc.
The staff at the resort are exceptional.

The fitness classes and water aerobics were great, and helped to offset the tasty food and drinks!
I would highly recommend this resort for a fun, stress-free family vacation.

This was our first Club Med experience and we could not have been happier. The staff were excellent, the food great and the room (with balcony) was spacious enough for three. We found everything we wanted at the resort and highly recommend the visitors venture away from the pool/main beach area and try the water sports. This resort offered an excellent opportunity to introduce our 8 year old to the wonders of snorkeling the coral reef.

This resort, with its low rise sprawling layout, was not at all what I would have expected in Cancun.

Club Med sits at the southerly end of Hotel Row - a long way from the "action". However, if you like having a nearly private beach and snorkeling reefs and still be within a 200 peso cab ride to town, this could be your place. We stayed in the Jade Building which offers concierge and room service. Room service is great since the building is the farthest removed from the central point of the hotel. The concierge service (especially Mayra) helped with off-site and on-site dinner reservations, transportation, birthday arrangements, etc. This was our first Club Med experience and we agree with other reviewers that the G.O.'s (activity staff) was more than friendly. We had booked a "Sea View" room, which I took to mean the ocean, but turned out to be the lagoon??? We tried to move but there were no ocean view rooms available. As it turned out, the upper floor of the Jade Building with a lagoon view was quite agreeable; the sunsets were spectacular. I felt some of the services such as the spa and clothing shop were a little pricey, but I think that most places we go. Great people, good food, good selection of booze and plenty of free activities with instructions on wind surfing, Hobi Cat sailing, trapeze flying and snorkeling.

Excellent place for a family to stay at. We stayed at the ocean view family suite with our two young boys (2 and 7) for 7 nights. We regret that we have not booked for a longer time. Especially our concierge, Mayra (I think she is a GE in ClubMed terminology) was great, thanks!

In my opinion, the best resort in Cancún.

It was my first time at Club Med and I enjoyed it to death.

Many fun activities to do, like snorkeling, water ski, kayak and windsurfing, I was there for a week, and it wasn't enought time to enjoy all that Club Med has to offer.

GO's are great!!! They are always attentive and willing to help. Special thanks to all reception team (Dulce, Karla Paola, etc) and also some others that were really nice, always caring about us like Karlita, Diego and Claudia who we were able to spend some extra time with and really get to know them.

Excursions are great too, you should really try Eco Coba, we had a great time

The nightclub is mostly full of teenagers, but you can still have a good time if you want, as we did.

Loved crazy signs, if you go you have to do them!

The chief of vilage was everywhere and he was very attentive, we were impressed by his job. Great job.

Favorite show, Circus show, you can't miss it
We are for sure coming back. Great job everyone!

We have always found that Club Med offers the best quality all inclusive vacation for the price. Club Med Cancun was no exception. Air from Phila was nonstop and very inexpensive. We requested a deluxe room with a lounge, which translated as a beach view,on the third floor, with a very spacious balcony overlooking the heart of the evening entertainment. Previous reviews suggest that the Jade building was the best , but if you can get a third floor deluxe room in the Topacio building , you won't be disappointed. Many people complained about the lack of adequate air conditioning in all buildings.
The food was exceptional. The bar was situated in a very nice locale, and the beach service was an extra bonus. Club Med still does not believe in swim up bars.
I took advantage of the gym daliy and didnt find it as repulsive as my fellow travelers. They had issues with quality of equipment and again the ventilation.
Water skiing was out of the question because of the SEA LICE.
Trapeze didnt seem a big deal at this Club Med, but the trapeze show had some real talent.
The beach space was very limited, and you had to be very early to get your spot.
It was Mexico, and I really took that into consideration when we got hosed $80. for a five minute cab ride to and from the airport. It seems they have mafia, too.( I mean price fixing)
I f you have a family with tweens, and you get a deal, GO. Couples, try Turks or Columbus Isle
