“5 Star Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This is a very nice property with 5-star service! The beach and pools are beautiful and clean. They work so hard to keep everything spotless. Everyone we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. Everyone spoke very good English and were easy to understand. One particular bartender who comes to mind is Pastor. He always had a smile on his face, as did all of them; however he makes the best Bloody Mary! I believe he was in the Bikini Bar.

As other reviews mentioned, there were a lot of families here. Although my husband and I kept our kids home, we were never bothered once by kids. The families with kids were all very well behaved. The only down fall was it made us miss ours :( If you are looking for a party atmosphere, you won't find it here. Which we loved - as we came down for a quiet relaxing trip!

One word of advice for those of you used to All-Inclusive. The reviews are correct - everything is expensive. For example $3.50 for a small bottle of water. This was our 5th trip to the Cancun/Playa area and our first time staying at a resort that was NOT all-inclusive. We thought that by not doing all-inclusive we would eat and drink less. NOT the case. We ate and drank just as much and it cost us lots of money. I'm sure it is normal for a 5-star resort; however I like paying one price and knowing everything is paid for. I also thought we'd be able to eat off the resort cheaper, but again, not the case. It seems all prices have gone up in the surrounding restaurants. As much as we loved the Fiesta Americana, we will opt for an All-Inclusive resort in the future.

I don't know where to start really. My Wife and I had been planning a trip to Mexico and had originally planned on going to Cabo when at the last second, we found a good deal to the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach in Cancun. We stayed at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach the week of March 16-23.

We chose the Grand Club experience - which we would definitely recommend. We are active and like to leave the resort so all-inclusive is a bit confining. The Grand Club food and drinks were a great option and we also were given the $1000 passport book of resort coupons. Yes, they're not a really flexible resort credit, but the coupons are very usable and we used a lot of them....they really enhanced the experience.

The pool - as everybody mentions - was awesome. Again, the Grand Club experience came in handy here as our first day we were met with no available pool chairs. However, a Grand Club attendent asked us how many we needed and set them up in a great spot for us then brought us free water and scented cool hand towels as well as some light snacks. No charge. Awesome service.

We snorkeled right off the beach and while there wasn't a TON of things to see, we did see plenty of fish and the water is an unbelievable blue color that you can't describe.

The resort location is absolutely perfect. Right near all the action but 200' off the main drag so there's no high speed traffic buzzing by the hotel. You're within walking distance of all the night clubs, a mall, Starbucks, and some great restaurants and flea markets.

We used our coupons to access the spa. One coupon was for two hydrotherapy sessions and dinner...it was awesome. The meal was fantastic and the hydrotherapy process was great.

Again, to reiterate, if you can afford it, go with the Grand Club. Free Wi-Fi, free small plate food service including hot breakfast daily, free wine, beer and rail drinks, free bottled water at the pool, high floor rooms, etc. etc.

I've vacationed 5 times in Mexico and this is the first time that I will definitely say that I would go back there every year. I will definitely check the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach first going forward.

Very big, clean, pretty property. More of a formal, older adult atmosphere. Not fun, but an elegant and relaxed air about it.

Few little kids about. Beach is comfortable but still rougher cloudier than down at Riviera Maya area.

The top pool is the only heated pool, and we found it barely comfortable the first week of March when weather was cooler. With gravity feeding the down to the final kids' pool, almost nobody was swimming anywhere but the top pool. The kiddie pool was ice cold. And the tiny little slide there is not well-engineered or super safe, with exposed rusty bolts, etc.

Good security folks. Staff is friendly enough, but again -- this is not your fun fiesta kind of place. Seems like most employees are nervous to be on their best behavior. Super competent but not engaging, with some exceptions, like the guys (concierges, they're called) around the pool and beach. I think it was Daniel there who shined about all with friendly ease and personality, while in constant motion setting things up and helping folks.

Food prices absurdly high, so we knew we'd venture out nearby to restaurants. But those close by places are still $30+ a person. Fun though.

The breakfast buffet was nice. But 320 pesos = almost $30 each. Good food; nice to not have to wander off property in the morning; but still high. Same thing every day. The omelette gal super sweet but most staff in that hustle hurry formal no-time-to-talk mode.

I checked out the Grand Club to see about upgrade value. The wanted $110/day. Note, while "Club" members usually stay in the nice 10th floor (not better than suites etc on lower floors), you walk up to the 11th floor "Club." The Club is more stuffiness. Drinks up there in an air-conditioned, enclosed large hotel room. Not interesting to me. Breakfast not as nice as the buffet restaurant below. You get little towels and tiny water bottles by the pool though! -- if that turns you on. And a dedicated little swath of the top pool to sit in, if you don't mind being herded and trapped there. Ridiculous over priced value -- but some folks love that. Go figure. To each her own. Especially if you don't need the money.

Great view of Isla Muheres.

This is a great place if you want quiet elegance and cautious smiles from staff.
Their Cancun Condessa all-inclusive is more my style, though. Not so stuffy and a warmer, easier feel, even though a little rougher around the edges.

Room Tip: Definitely go up higher to see the ocean over the flora.

View from the rooms are outstanding, staff is very attentive, and the breakfast buffet with mimosas is fantastic! Hotel and grounds are constantly being cleaned by staff members, and there are plenty of choices for meals at any time of day right onsite, no need to leave the premises. Easy walking distance to shopping, travel agent in the hotel helped us book day trip to Isla Mujeres, would definitely return to the hotel soon.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at FA Coral Beach. From the gentlemen at the door, concierge, room service, to the restaurant staff, the hospitality we received was over the top. We deeply appreciated the calm and relaxing nature of the resort. The other hotels such as RIU or Dreams do not compare to the level of excellence at FA Coral Beach. The food was exceptional and not being all inclusive left us with money to explore outside the hotel as well. I do recommend taking the 30 minute ferry to Isla Mujeres, which gave us the old world Mexican flair we were also looking for. The location could not be better as there is shopping, night life, and transportation available within footsteps. I also found the hotel surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night, as all open windows only face the Coral Beach side. Plus their beach is extremely larger then RIU's and better maintained. In short when we return I will not even consider staying at another hotel, Fiesta is our Cancun home.

Just returned from a few days at the Grand Coral Beach Hotel in Cancun. It was my second stay at the hotel. Overall the resort is very nice. All rooms have great views. We upgraded to a Master Suite which was spacious. The bathroom was very large but there was only one soap dish to share between two sinks spaced rather far apart and there was only one electrical outlet on one side of the bathroom. The bed and pillows were firm and very comfortable and the linens were high thread count. It was a bit annoying, however, that hot water was slow to warm up.

The grounds, outdoor pools and beach are beautiful and the staff is very accommodating and attentive. The restaurants are lobby bar are also very good.

The hotel spa gets 5 stars from me. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful spas that I have been to. The couples massage area is a suite unto itself with a his and hers jacuzzi , private bathroom and shower as well as a beautiful sitting area where you can relax with spa drinks and snacks. If you enjoy spas this is one experience you will not want to miss!

Bottom line... overall this is a 4 star property and I would recommend it to other travelers.

thumbs up !!!! spa is nice but expensive, massage average, spa facility is A1.
hotel is clean, staff is there to please..alot of them. was told to be on west end of hotel. I think the center of hotel has a nicer view of ocean. Walking distance to shopping or all of the happening bars. Felt safe out at 1:00am , i wouldnt wander to far off the beaten path thou.
Federallies equipt with machine guns all around downtown, keeping things in check .

Room Tip: we were told west end of hotel , better view of ocean center of hotel.
