4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

We stayed for 3 nights, upon arriving in Cancun. The rooms are very large with lots of storage space. Showers are all marble. The first night we were on the street side and the noise kept me awake, as it is the main street (Avenida Tulum) and there is constant traffic, sirens, motorcycles and trucks. Since it was December and not very hot, we didn't have need of air conditioning which might have drowned out the street. The next morning i asked for a room change and was given a room right across the hall, with no hesitation. The 2nd room looked into an interior courtyard and was great. That's when I realized that the first room had no water pressure in the shower, no hot water, and a safe that wasn't working. In the new room, all these things were in fine working condition. The continental breakfast can be very slow, as the first morning there seemed to be a shortage of 1 server, compared to the 2nd day. The difference between the 2 days was like night and day. On Day 1 the orange juice was totally watery, the service was slow, the coffee not very hot. The 2nd day, it all turned around and we even ordered an omelet (which costs extra) but it was delicious. Day 3 was closer to Day 2, so I put it down to a staff illness, after Christmas.
The business centre has 1 computer with internet, which usually worked, but 1 morning it seemed hung and wouldn't work for anybody. Other times, it was fine. The front desk was helpful any time we had a question. It isn't easy finding a moderate priced Cancun hotel at the last minute, as we did. This is a business person's hotel, and yet many tourists use it, too. Many buses pass in front or a bus to the beach hotel zone is a 5 minute walk away.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the inner courtyard.

Airport exit
From the airport, as you exit the arrivals area, turn right just before the departure entrance (to the inside of the airport terminal 3), there are guys operating a shuttle service to down town hotels ( there is no office); they are on the curb. From there, you can get to the hotel for about $20 US via a shuttle - a reasonable price.

The hotel is located on Tulum Avenue downtown Cancun, just a few minutes from the busy section (casual walking about 8-10 mins). Staff is very helpful, from the receptionist at the front desk to the security guards. For security reasons names are not explicit. E***a, front desk staff speaks English very well and is very helpful with traveling tips around the city.

Guests upon arrival are welcomed with a refreshing margarita drink- hits the spot when you arrive late on a hot day.. There is a small swimming pool and a patio area, where the continental breakfast (cereal, yogurt, eggs, cheese, ham, bacon, milk, coffee, tea, juices, toast, muffins, rolls, pastries, fresh fruit (seasonal)) is served on weekends. The hotel restaurant is open Monday to Friday where a la carte menu is available. The lobby has comfortable seats, local news papers, a computer with free internet access (ideal for checking flight status and updates) and a large 52 inch LCD TV. No money exchange at the hotel.

Hotel room is comfortable, and the room and contents are just as shown on the hotel website. Furniture is clean. Room is cleaned daily. Mini-fridge and microwave oven present. Fridge is stocked with beer and soft drinks, snacks are in a basket on the counter - you consume, you pay; there is a price listing of the items on the counter. There is a digital safe in the drawer in the night table; its use is included in the room price. However, it is portable and can be removed from the room - somewhat strange! Recommended to the front desk that it be permanently affixed to a non-removable surface in the room for security reasons. No coffee maker in room, recommended that one be provided. Closet is large and contains wooden hangers, including an ironing board and steam iron. Access to the closet is via large sliding doors equipped with full size mirrors. Nice large bathroom, with shower. A 35 inch LCD TV mounted on a swivel to provide easy view whether on the sofa or on the bed. There is a remote control and several channels, Spanish and English are available. Overall a nice, quiet hotel.

Points of interest nearby
Conveniently located across the street (about 5 mins) to the west is Las Plazas de Americas. It has a large Sears department store. It has a food court with your typical North American eateries : McDonalds, Burger King, Subway. There other outlets that serve, Pizza, Chinese stir fry, Mexican food, and an ice cream parlour. One would not go hungry and operates every day from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. That food court is always busy even at 9:30 pm at night! The complex, at the opposite end of Sears, also houses a large shopping store(I forgot the name) similar to Walmart that sells, everything: food, groceries, fresh vegetables meat, baked goods and foods (with a designated eating area), pharmaceutical products, household items, etc. Found it very convenient to purchase bottled water (4 liter container for about 12.50 pesos (~ 1.50 US). Corona beer can be purchased - a case of 6 cost about $1US each). A currency exchange booth (cambio de moneda) is located outside the entrance to the plaza, no charge for exchanging money; the female attendant is helpful and pleasant. There are two large cinemas and a children’s play area in the mall.

As you exit the hotel front door, to the left is a casino, and further down there are several small restaurants serving mexican dishes at reasonable prices. Few are open late- the one that sells quesadillas..(do not recall the name). There is a convenience store, OXXO, that is open 24 hours- you can get snacks, drinks, milk, beer, etc. There is a bank there with ATM, never tried it so I do not know what cards are acceptable; also there are few ATMs in the Las Plaza de Americas.

There are many taxis and buses operating at all hours of the night- be extremely careful in crossing streets- there are few designated cross walks; pay particular attention to oncoming traffic- they do not have posted speed limits on the street. Took a taxi from the hotel to Cancun Convention Center, which is in the Hotel Zona (the tourist area where the ‘all inclusive’ and ritzy hotels and condominiums are located) cost 120 pesos one way; by bus it would cost 8.50 pesos. Take the newer blue colour number R1-Hotel Zona/Ave. Tulum buses (these buses are air conditioned) up on Tulum Avenida in the downtown area, and in 20-25 minutes you would be at the Convention Center. Wow, how awesome! One bus I took even had two TVs, one at the front and one in the middle that were playing a movie (latest English movie, I could not recall the name). Found it safe to walk around down town area at night.

Hotel would arrange for a taxi to take you to the airport ~ 250 pesos. Highly recommend this hotel, if you do want a bit of quiet and yet not too far from the busy downtown core. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next trip.

I stayed a year ago in this place but just decided to be the first one writing about it
I go to Cancún pretty often and I´ve stayed in a lot of hotels there, I like trying a new hotel everytime.
Said this, I can say this is one of the betters business hotels in town (I'd choose this one over a city express).

In summary great value & great location!

The rooms are huge for a business class hotel. They are also very clean and very well equipped (big table, minibar, grill, etc.) . If you are staying several nights, this is a great option.
Don´t expect luxury, because it´s not, but it has great aspect & new furniture.
No restaurant inside the hotel but there are some close to it.
