We recently returned from a trip to Cancun (March 13-20), and we hired Olympus Tours as our airport transfer.
The staff that were involved in getting us to and from the hotel were amazing (especially on arrival).
Our ride to the hotel was in a fairly new Chevy Suburban, and was quite luxurious. Our ride back was almost as good, just that it didn’t end up being a private transfer like the first time.
There was however one very small thing that happened that we were not impressed with.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately contacted by the Olympus staff and told it was imperative that we go and see them to book our transfer back to the airport. As we were tired, we put it off until the next day. We were again left a message the next morning telling us how important it was to go see them. As they don’t have a rep at the hotel at all hours of the day, our schedules simply did not mesh with theirs. We were left another message in the afternoon.
We made our way down on the third morning to book our transfer back. Please keep in mind that all the messages that we were left stated that they needed to see us to book our transfer back to the airport.
We were greeted by the rep at the Olympus desk, and were asked questions about our family and who we were travelling with. My wife and I immediately knew that there was a pitch coming. We told the rep that we were just here to relax and would likely not be leaving the resort. At this point in time we were told that we would need to come back the day before we leave to book our transfer back to the airport.
As it turns out, my wife did end up going off site on an excursion, but we were so annoyed by Olympus’ actions on trying to sell us, that we didn’t give them the business.
So, they did a great job at doing what we hired them to do, so that is what I am basing my rating on. Just be aware that they will try to sell you once you’re there.
