“Total Luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Fantino at the Ritz Carlton Hotel has everything going for it. The food is absolutely incredible. It is not one of those places that is very stuffy but has putrid food. Phenomenal Food! I would recommend either the filet mignon or the short rib.But everything on the menu is delicious. The service is impeccable. People are waiting on you hand and foot each second. Some may think it is overkill but I liked it. They are very accommodating to everyone. Children, the elderly, etc. They even have a children's menu. The view is stunning, the live music is great. The pre appetizers are astounding, as are The little gifts they give you on the way out. The desserts are fine, a little more to be desired. But overall a fabulous luxury dining experience. I would recommend it 100%. The wait staff is all very friendly, especially the hostess Teresa. The service is so impeccable that ladies purses get their own stool next to the owner. Live this place!!!

“Almost overkill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

There's no doubt that this is a great and romantic place to eat but you almost feel suffocated by the army of waiters around you. Every time they serve a plate, there come as many waiters as parties at your table, they walk around, serve the dish and uncover at unison. It almost remind me of Las Vegas show. The food was good but not great. The bread service comes in a cart and has the waiter cut the bread for you and place it on your plate. The problem is that the pieces are so small that you have to get his attention, while his not parading serving another table, to bring more bread back. You almost feel as if they were rationing the bloody bread. I was also surprised that they didn't have a Sommelier and their selection of wine and spirits was limited. If I were you, head downstairs to the Grill and have a much better time. Ask for Oscar, he's one of the best high-dining waiters we have ever encountered in our foodie lives!

“Fantastic celebration meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

My girlfriend and I decided to book a table here for her birthday, we booked whilst still at home in the UK before we arrived in cancun for a 2 week holiday. Upon arrival at the Ritz Carlton Hotel we were seated in the main bar area for a pre drink. When our table was ready we were escorted to the resturant, we were simply blown away by the sheer elegance of the room with chandlers, pianist who played threw out the evening and not forgetting our table that was decorated with rose petals as a nice gesture to my girlfriends birthday. The service was second to none in every way. Now to the food! From start to finish the level of cooking was to the highest order, wonderful home backed breads, pan fried veal foie gras, delicious Parmesan soup with ravioli, two wonderful Amuse- bouche, filet mignon cooked to perfection, all washed down with wonderful wine. Anyone who says that food like this is just a picture on a plate and is not filling must dine at resturants that just cook usual food and serve small portions because even though the food served here is slight it is so so rich that when eaten properly and taken time to enjoy every mouthful you will certainly feel full as we were as we could not manage a desert! Saying that the pianist who I mentioned at the beginning suddenly played Happy Birthday and with that the waiter brought out a special desert for my girlfriends birthday on a plate with a lovely greeting and a single candle and everyone including the other diners clapped, a very nice little touch and end to the evening which was a lovely 3 hours of pure elegance and sheer indulgents. Very Very memorable.

“Another great meal and evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Fantino is 5 star rated and I do not disagree! It was a lovely evening. And it is an evening - we don't drink so time over cocktails was not included in our experience, but dinner took 2 1/2 hours. This is not a negative for us. The food was excellent; they happily split an entree for my wife and I - that left room for dessert! The dessert was very good, but did not match the souffle that we had a couple of nights earlier at the other 5 star restaurant (the grill). Service is extraordinary! Expensive. If you like great service, fine food, and are willing to spend the time and money, Fantino is highly recommended. Our adult children (2) were with us.
