“worse meal in Cancun”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

hands down worse meal and most over priced food we had in Cancun. I have had better tacos off street carts in San Francisco and LA than this place - pricing for a basic lunch for two ran us over $50 dollars. The ONLY dish that was passable was the queso fundido - the rest was so bad that it hurt me to pay the bill. Would never return or recommend to anyone

“So good we went twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Fabulous lagoon with a sunset view. Fun, attentive & excellent service - our waiter entertained our children (11 & 14) by pouring their drinks with a soda can from the flat of his hand (w/out gripping). My husband is a "foodie" and he, as well as all of us loved our meals. Mariachi band comes to your table. Along with an outstanding tequila selection...it's one of our favorites!

“Fun Mexican Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The food was very good, the "bacation" margaritas (spelling intentional) were even better, and the strolling mariachi band made it seem as mexican an experience as possible in a tourist area. Gummer our waiter was very good, and the photo they took of us against the sunset is our most prized souvenir of the whols trip.

“Above average Mexican Restaurant at Top Dollar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Nice place...nothing wrong with the food. If you compare it with the average Mexican place in the US. The prices are somewhat stunning ..wasnt prepared to pay 200 USD for a family of 4 for Mexican food. The restaurant is located right at the laguna...the sunsets are ok..but not really sensational...I would stick to the beach side in Cancun. The laguna side is somewhat smelly and the particular place at the restaurant needs some clean up. The Musicians are great...wasnt really sure what kind of tip they expect..but it is definitely an impressive sound. WIth the price level, the location near the upscale mall and the fact that the bellman recommended the place and the hostess asked you what hotel you stay...it feels a little bit like a tourist trap...service staff is ok...not really super friendly and somewhat disconnected. Also noteworthy that they throw in some snack items ( salsa , cheese etc. ) and some are for charge. Not a big deal to pay 10 bucks for some cheese dish..but again - you don't expect that in a Mexican place. So at the end it is just another tourist trap....forgot...kid's menu is non-existent except 1 or 2 items...

“A must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

The food was amazing! I had beef tenderloin drenched in an avocado sauce. The recommended peach margarita was also spectacular. And, to top it off, the dessert was amazing!...banana crepe with carmel. But, most impressive was the sunset and band. They sang a romantic song for us on our honeymoon and were the best band we heard on our trip in Cancun. We will definitely be back!
