What can I say? I came for four days and stayed for four months! Bela's is a wonderful, homey, cosy place to stay. Bela herself is warm, friendly, and helpful, as are the staff. I felt so at home I didn't want to leave. Bela also knows a great deal about San Cristobal, and can recommend places to see, places to avoid, tours, etc. The best place to be.

Bela and her family and staff have created a delightful B&B that I heartily recommend! I spent two nights in a tiny, but very comfortable, room that held some lovely items (such as beautifully woven textiles) and some delightful touches (such as a towel warmer and a daily serving of absolutely delicious chocolate). The common areas of the B&B include a beautiful garden, various seating areas, and a glass-enclosed dining room. Breakfasts were delicious and generous—coffee and juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, French toast one day and cheese another, offers of eggs. . . . Served around a communal table, Bela is adept at setting her guests at ease and ensuring an amiable, friendly atmosphere. Bela is also generous with her knowledge of the area and her belongings (she kindly insisted on giving me some Benedryl after I developed an allergic reaction to something) and she seems to genuinely enjoy making her guests happy, all without ever seeming intrusive. In addition, the B&B is in a great location, just steps from Santo Domingo and only a few blocks from the main square. If I ever return to San Cristobal de las Casas, I hope to stay here again.

Bela's B and B is the best place to stay in San Cristobal. This was my fifth visit to this marvelous city and staying with Bela was by far the best. Breakfasts are delicious, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and she is always happy to share information and recommendations. I can't say enough great things. Bela is a sensitive inn keeper who responds to whatever her guests need.

I had a wonderful time staying at Bela's. The rooms are all different, nicely decorated, and clean. All of the rooms are situated around or have views of a beautiful garden teeming with flowers and hummingbirds, giving the whole place a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms include a full fresh breakfast. And yummy chocolates were placed in my room every day. The owner, Bela, was also an exceptional host, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and catering to everyone's needs. I would love to go back and stay there again.
