We have a daughter who lives in Oaxaca. She loves it. And we understand why. The people are kind and friendly. And so is everyone at casa Ollin. Everyone is all smiles. The place is spic and span, the food is excellent and the athmosphere welcoming. Casa Ollin is a short walk from the Zocalo yet in quiet street. The view from the roofterrace is very nice. The swimming pool is a welcome place where one can relax after a day visiting the city with its many very interesting and beautiful sights. We will return.

Room Tip: Rooms opposite the main building have sunshine in the morning. If one has the choice, go for the la...

My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at Oaxaca Ollin. My expectations were exceeded, primarily with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. We were supposed to arrive on Thursday but my husband had a last minute work emergency and we did not arrive until Friday. Even though we were not able to give 24 hour notice of our missed night we were not charged for Thursday night. We found our room to be exceptionally clean and even though we were in one of the smaller rooms (room 7) we did not feel cramped.

The bed and breakfast is an easy 10 minute walk to the zocalo. It is located on a quiet street which was appreciated as the zocalo was loud and crazy at night. It was great to be able to enjoy the craziness but then take a short, well lit walk to our quiet room when we were ready to call it a night.

There is an honor bar in one of the lounge areas and you can take a bottle of wine or a mescal up to the roof deck to enjoy. We were lucky that we were there for Mexican independence day and could watch the fireworks from the roof deck!

The breakfasts were excellent – each morning you are offered tea, local organic coffee, oaxacan hot chocolate and freshly squeezed juices. That is followed by fresh fruit and then a oaxacañean dish that varies daily (one morning we had enfrijoladas and another day mole tamales – both delicious).

We will be back and will most certainly be referring Oaxaca Ollin to our friends!

My wife and I and our two teenage daughters just returned to CA from a one-week stay at Casa Ollin. We were extremely happy with our decision to stay there. The ambience at this bed and breakfast is great. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. Breakfasts were terrific. Also, we felt very safe at Casa Ollin. The location, about a 10 minute walk from the center of the city, is ideal. The rooms are very quiet and peaceful yet you are only a few minutes from all the beautiful, interesting and exciting places that the city of Oaxaca has to offer. Judith, one of the two owners, has an insiders knowledge of everything going on both in the center and outskirts of Oaxaca city. She was able to recommend wondeful places to eat and also arranged for a driver to spend the day with us driving to Monte Alban and other nearby sites. In short, we would not hesitate to stay at Cas Ollin again or to recommmend it to our friends and family.

We went to Oxacac for our honeymoon and had the good luck to stay with Jon and Judith at Casa Olin. Judith was/ is a tour guide, they both know the valleys of Oxaca and are great at setting up outings. Jon replies to e-mails with-in 24 hours if one wants to make reservations. The staff is friendly ,helpful are good humored. Casa Olin is a great place to stay while in Oxaca.

I have stayed many places in Oaxaca City and I will always return to Casa Ollin. The hosts, Jon and Judith, are warm, helpful, and always there for whatever you need. The staff are delightful....you feel their commitment to giving guests a good experience. The cook, Sophie, should write a cookbook! She presents amazing breakfasts every morning in a dining room decorated with beautiful Oaxacan art. The beds are luxurious and everything is spotless. There are several places to quietly read, have a little alone time, or meet for social time with friends. The newly created roof patio is especially nice, with views of the city. I have always had a good experience at Casa Ollin, whether with my husband or a group of women friends. I just returned from there yesterday and I am already looking forward to my next trip!

Room Tip: You need to reserve early for Day of the Dead, as it fills up fast. Otherwise, each room is comforta...

We use TripAdvisor when booking all our accommodation. We Booked Ollin on the recommendation of friends that had stayed plus reviews. We found our stay to reflect the reviews of those that had stayed before us - superb. Jon and Judith are wonderful hosts and we felt like we were staying with friends in their home. Nothing was too much bother with help with places to see, visit and eat at, most helpful. We even had the best Margaritas in town, Jon has that one worked out! The Staff were wonderful and very much appreciated by Jon and Judith who we discovered have a tutor teaching them English so they can further their Education. These personal touches are what makes this B&B so special. We taught the Staff to ask us for "gumboot" tea which is a New Zealand back country way of asking for a common cup of tea (English Breakfast), be prepared for that one if you stay!

Room Tip: We had Room 6 which for a little more ($10 per night) gave a very spacious room, balcony over lookin...

I stayed here with some friends. We booked the place sight unseen, and it was a great choice. The hotel itself is very attractive; the rooms were lovely; the staff and service were first-rate. The rooms during the week were a bit noisy (there is a school next door), and the downstairs rooms could use a bit more air circulation at night, but overall, it was an excellent choice. I would happily stay there again.
