“Wonderful real Napolitan pizza, cheese, dessert!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014 NEW

This is our second time around, now during the Guelaguetza weekend! A WONDERFUL WONDERFUL experience all around. We had amazing pizza, prepared next to us in a wood-fire oven, the prosciutto was simply perfect (soft, non chewy, and perfectly salty). We had a panna cotta for dessert, which thought the 4 of us would share and decided on after tasting it to have each of us our own dessert!! :D The owner (who usually cooks) and his parents are a delight and run the place! They even allowed us to taste their homemade Limoncello!!

They take walk ins, but reservations are adviced.

“Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014 NEW via mobile

I went to Mexita with my girlfriend and we had a really great dinner. The pizza was so good! Mains were approx 180 pesos so it was a splurge for us backpackers but thoroughly worth it. Victor was the perfect waiter! We would recommend the steak plus the tiramisu as well.. Delicious.

“April 2014 - We ate there 5 times in 2 weeks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Although there are many quality restaurants in Oaxaca, if you are looking for something other than Mexican cuisine, this is the place. Mexita is a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant and is the real deal. The food is homemade and delicious. Besides pizza, pasta, etc., the restaurant also serves very tender, flavorful steaks cooked to perfection. The tiramisu is the best!

“Good Old World Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

I stopped here because it was near my hotel and looked fairly quiet and very clean. I was unprepared for the delicate Italian pizza they served, with tender crust and the finest of toppings in just the right quantity. Add a very decent house red wine and an attentive wait staff (and chef) and there is nothing missing for a restaurant in this price category.

“Mexita, Oaxaca City.”

Victor our waiter greeted us in an extremely friendly and professional manner and ensured our entire dining experience was the best it could be.
We had the the Basil, tomato and mozzarella salad and the calabrize pizza.
Both were exquisite, the pizza flavoursome and fragrant on light, fresh dough base without being greasy at all.
Another bonus, the beers were extra extra cold.
Must taste for Mexican Italian fusion.
