Description: I ate at many of the restaurants listed in trip advisor over an 8 day period in Oaxaca. Decided to try this place because it was always crowded with the mixture of Mexican and non Mexican tourists. The food was from the isthmus of Mexico. Authenic but different than the usual Oaxacan cuisine which became repetitious after a while. The food was different, with a lot of " I wonder how they make this sauce, dip, drink?" It was not fusion gitzy food that a lot of the higher rated restaurants on your trip advisor restaurant list present to the tourists.

“Good quality of food , service to be improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

Good selection of typical food from the istmus, bean soup very authentic, the water of orchata could have more flavor, tlayudas are as good as in local markets , estofado de boda was delicious, the dessert: arroz con leche should be moistier, in general you enjoy food a lot. But service is not good, it's slow , the attitude of the waiter Tomas is not gentle, he is not paying attention if you need sth.It could be a really cozy place if the staff were better organized. I'll give it another try

“Save your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Over priced, cold and awful food, bad service. Went with a group of 8 people. All had the same experience with each of their food ordered. Had been there before they moved. Food used to be good. NOT going back.

“Oh, the garnachas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Every time I visit Oaxaca I eat here at least once. Incredible food from the south region of Oaxaca. You must try the garnachas, cochito, tamal de elote, and, of course, their tlayudas. They moved a couple of months ago to a larger place which is nice but a bit dark.
You won't be disappointed, but you'll eat too much.
