“Worth the trip”

If you like archaeological sites this rates high on the list. Well preserved, almost intact, with a clear understanding of the structures and purposes.

“One of my favorite ruins of all of Mexico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

The view is one that makes me want to stay and soak it up for hours. Interesting carvings and astronomical structure. Small enough to see but big enough to understand the greatness of it. The restaurant on site is good and reasonable. The museum is small with the originals in it and reproductions on the site.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Monte Alban is an amazing tourist destination, and full of historical facts. My favorite area is the Juego de Pelota, where they played games to the death in ancient times.

Take a hat, Monte Alban is very high up in the City and you will leave with a lot of Sun if you are not prepared. Don't have a hat, don't worry there are people there selling them just outside of the entrance.

“Must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

If you go to Oaxaca, toy must visit Monte Alban. It's not far from city center. Just find the shuttles which will take you there only for 50 pesos (less than 5$) and we'll wait there for you, then take you back. It takes to go there around half an hour or less. Amazing place to visit. Make sure that you will also visit the museum there.
