“Oaxaca has a lot to offer.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

In and around Oaxaca there are so many things to do, places to visit and restaurants to enjoy. Being in Oaxaca for a month attending Oaxaca International Spanish school, I had time in the evening and on weekends to attend symphonies, visit ruins and small indigenas villages; be mesmerized by the beautiful artisan hand made clothing and rugs, and just enjoy activities and 'people watch' in the Zocalo.

“Fantastic ruins atop Oaxaca!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

These ruins are fabulous...bit if a walk up and down, but nothing strenuous. We loved the museum, it is worth your time to see what has been found at this site. You should bring sunscreen and water...climb all over and see the sites. The space is beautiful, green and lush.
you can see so much of Oaxaca from the top. Enjoy

“Nice site with ok ruins and plenty of sun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Bring you hat, sunblock and sunglasses. There are a few places to get shade on this site, but unless you seek them out, you will be in the glaring sun. We welcomed the heat, but it could be an issue for some. This site was more about location and feel than the actual ruins, for us. It sort of felt like a chess set, with all the pieces perfectly set out. The ability to climb up and down many of the ruins adds a lot to the experience and the views from on high are quite nice. I wouldn't make the special trip to Oaxaca just to see Monte Alban, but if you are already in the area you should check them out. The sheer size of this site will easily take up 3 hours of your time at a relaxed pace.

“You really a transported to another time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Loved Monte Alban, is definitely one of the highlights of Oaxaca, and worth spending a couple of hours at. A good recommedation is to wear plenty of sunscreen and a hat (you can buy one upon arrival).

“Beautiful Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Monte Alban was well worth the trip! At only 45 pesos pp round-trip for the bus ride to the site and not much more for admission, we had a great morning. The clear skies, beautiful vistas, and enormity of the site (meaning it never felt crowded) all made for a great explore!
