“Great shopping but watch your wallet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Very crowded but worth a visit. We bought many items at this market but don't eat street food. Purchased excellent runners too for $25 US .

“Typical market with many vendors”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Lots to see, lots to purchase (food, clothing, leather goods, etc) but hard to know whether you're getting a deal or if you're getting something of qulaity.

“Chocolate Lovers beware”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

You will not get out of this market empty handed! First if you have not done so I do recommend visiting one of the nearby cocoa farms, then beat feet it to this market and stock up on Pure Oaxacan Chocolate and some of their amazing Mole. Also the Artisan breads are to die for!

“Baskets!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

They say bargain for the best prices. Don't be a jerk! The vendors are not out to screw tourists. The prices are consistent, and everything is very inexpensive. At the front entrance of the market is a collective of women who make baskets. They're beautiful and very very affordable! A giant handmade basket is MAYBE $10... if I ever saw a tourist haggle one of these artisans down from their price I would shame them publicly. Remember, you're here to appreciate the culture of this place, not enforce negative stereotypes of wealthier entitled tourists. Be good, support the local economy, and go home with some beautiful crafts.

“Lotsa stuff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Something for everyone here. Prices are good but don't forget to bargain for the best prices. Seems clean and all the vendors are friendly, even if you don't spend money with them.
