“Great drinks, for food go elsewhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

The mezcalinis (mixed drinks made with mezcal) are fantastic and the rooftop terrace and bar downstairs are both very nice and quiet for a drink before dinner. The food was pretty good, but not great. We like Los Danzantes down the street more so we got drinks Casa Oaxaca and dinner at Los Danzantes a few nights, which worked out well.

“Lovely and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

When the restaurant we'd planned to attend was closed, the hotel recommended Casa Oaxaca. We took 14 people there and ate on the rooftop terrace, which was very pleasant. the restaurant is very contemporary in style, and fashionable in service. The staff were concerned about the wind, so they placed us in protected areas. Several of us had the turkey with mole, which was excellently prepared, beautifully presented, delicious, and not overwhelmingly huge. We also had lovely desserts and excellent margaritas and wine. At first we were taken aback by the prices, but they were for dishes to be shared among many and in the end it was surprisingly reasonable.

“Overpriced!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

for the price, we expected far more. food was decent, portions were miniature, service was ok. we would have been better off going to a more moderately priced place and gotten more for the money.

“An unforgettable meal.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We had a wonderful meal at Casa Oaxaca Restaurant. Sitting up in the rooftop dinning area we had a chance to experience all the different flavors of traditional Oaxacan cuisine, all executed masterfully by chef Alejandro. This meal was unforgettable! I highly recommend trying the tasting menu, where you get the chance to taste all the different moles and spices. We also recommend trying a few of the different tipes of mescal cocktails, mixed with local fruits and spices. This was a high-point in our visit to Oaxaca.
