RTH, located in a safe, walkable part of Mexico City, is run by Craig and Jorge like a home-away-from-home. Price and service can't be beat. This B&B is attracting like-minded, friendly travelers to share sight-seeing tips, delighful breakfasts every morning, and "happy hour" every evening. Knowing restaurants would be closed Chrismas Eve, Craig and Jorge even put on a Christmas Dinner for their guests. Another plus was their recomendation of guide Carmen. Between Craig, Jorge and Carmen, we felt like we had a new family for the week -- the good kind of family, that is.

The Red Tree House was the best place we stayed during our wonderful month in Mexcio. The location is fantastic in the lovely, leafy Colonia Condesa, with its parks and array of cafes and restauarants. It is a great place to retreat to after the bustle of Centro Historico and other parts of the city. Jorge, Craig, Ernesto and all the staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with them and other guests in the morning over breakfast and in the evening over a bottle of wine. We stayed in the Treehouse, which is small but very comfortable and well appointed. It also has a pretty balcony overlooking the internal courtyard. We were very sad to leave after just four days in Mexico City. We can't wait to return to the Red Tree House!

Great place! Our trip was a bit last minute over the Christmas holiday so many places were booked and we ended up staying in three bed and breakfasts in Condesa. The Red Tree House was the best, I wished we'd stayed there the whole time. The hospitality is incredible, the decor is perfect, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, and the location couldn't be better. The hosts really make the place, treating everyone warmly and encouraging a genuinely friendly atmosphere at the house. Staying here makes Mexico City even more wonderful than it already is.

My husband and I spent a week in the DF toward the end of October. We stayed all of our days at the Red Tree House. Our room was clean stylish and our bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were hardy and delicious, to carry us through our full days of sight seeing. Restaurant recommendations in the Condessa, by staff were excellent. We did not truly establish our friendship with the wonderful owners until at the end of our stay when I realized I had under booked us for a nights stay, the bed and breakfast was full, but after a few anxious moments this amazing staff was able to accommodate us. Now I wouldn't recommend under booking to anyone, that point made I believe it is just another example of the extraordinary quality of service that The Red Tree House offers. That last night we established friendships, that I can tell you upon my return to Mexico City there is no other place I would stay.

Sarah and I stayed at the Red Tree Inn for a week spanning Christmas, our first vacation together, and our first time in Mexico City. What a fantastic find! The house itself is very beautifully renovated and decorated, with ample shared space, including a wonderful interior courtyard, and very pleasant rooms. Our hosts, Craig, Jorge, and Tessy, were incredibly generous and kind, welcoming us into their home, and treating us as if we were personal friends. Every evening we were offered wine to drink with our hosts and the other guests gathered around the fireplace, and every morning we were given a delightful breakfast of freshly prepared warm food accompanied by fruit, cereal, coffee, organge juice, and pastries. On Christmas Eve, recognizing that Mexico City is practically closed, our wonderful hosts prepared an elaborate and delicious three-course meal, complete with wine, for the entire house (about two dozen of us), all for free! We enjoyed a convivial evening of conversation, food, and drink. Magnificent!

The RTH is ideally located in Colonia Condesa, very close to Parque Mexico. For those not familiar with Mexico City, Condesa is a very pleasant residential neighborhood with beautiful tree-lined streets, lovely parks, and numerous restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. It is a short walk to the metro, and hence to the rest of the city. (The Mexico City Metro system is the best I've ever used anywhere in the world, including Japan!)

Craig, Jorge, and Tessy are very helpful with directions, suggestions for what to see (or not), and where to find good food or drink. They are always available, and always cheerful and warm. Their dog, Abril, is a real charmer, a very playful golden retriever who laps up attention, but can readily be shooed away if you're not in the mood to play. The premises are beautifully appointed, and decorated with impressive displays of fresh flowers every day. Although we only saw our own room, we were well-satisfied with our "Balcony" room, which overlooks the courtyard. It has a shared bath right outside the room, which we found to be no inconvenience at all. (The owners offered us a chance to upgrade to a room with private bath, but we were too lazy and satisfied to bother to make the switch.)

The Red Tree House is an ideal location for a vacation in Mexico City. It is kid- and family-friendly, but also very suitable for singles and couples of any sort who might wish to stay there. A real gem in a great location hosted by wonderfully generous and kind hosts!

When we saw all 5's for the Red Tree House we were truly amazed. But, the truth is that everything said about the RTH is absolutely true!!!! The property itself is charming, with a beautiful courtyard, cozy and inviting living space where guests congregate every evening and lovely rooms. However, the best aspect is the PEOPLE! Everyone, including all the employees will go out of their way to make certain that your needs are met, whatever they may be. We had some special dietary restrictions, and every morning the lovely cook would come and speak with us. Also, the neighborhood of Condesa was perfect...safe with great restaurants and parks!!! Would I go back.....YOU BET!!!!!!!!

The RTH has now set the bar very high for accomodation standard...I will find it very difficult to find places that can even come close to the Red Tree House... Jorge, Craig, Ernesto and Tessy were amazing.

The Red Tree House itself is so stylish and inviting. I want to go back just to be in different rooms; I spent two nights in the Lafayette Suite and then two nights in the Tree House...I miss my treehouse!

On my first night, as I am a solo female traveler, Craig walked me to a restaurant nearby; he did the same thing the following night for another sole traveler.

Ernesto was just delightful, very helpful and full of energy. Tessy has some very insightful restaurant recommendations...Jorge and Craig, really nice hosts...

Abril...love her!

I went over there over the Thanskgiving break and ended up having Thanksgiving at the Red Tree House where they prepared a full, formal Thanksgiving dinner for their friends and the RTH's guests, so unexpected, but so wonderful.

I'm already contemplating going back...
