Description: Mexico City’s first and best creperie, established in 1974. Cluny is located in the heart of the historical quarter of San Angel in the south of Mexico City and housed in a grand building which was the former residence of one of the area’s wealthiest families, built in 1901 and now listed as one of the city’s historical landmarks. This location, together with an elegantly appointed décor is what gives Cluny a very romantic, cozy and inviting atmosphere, as our tables are set amongst stone & brick arches and vaulted ceilings.Over its 35+ years of existence, Cluny has increased its number of tables from 14 to 80+, now taking up almost the entire ground floor of the former residence. This expansion has also been reflected on our menu, which now not only offers traditional crepes, but also innovative and delicious seafood dishes, grilled meats, one of the city’s most famous salad bars, traditional French dishes, bread and ice creams made by our chef, and a beautiful Belle Epoque style wine bar which opened in 2003.

“Excellent option near San Angel in Mexico City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Clunys in San Angel is definitely an affordable option when visiting San Angel.

Food is extremely good. With a French atmosphere and cuisine, it still has some really good Mexican options: chilli and huitlacoche crepes.

Quality and service couldn't be better. Waiting staff are very attentive and no need to be on your guard for little scams or the like, everything is strictly professional.

The restaurant is spacious so tables are not too close to each other.

Overall, a lovely experience. If you feel like a drink after your meal, pop in the Clunys bar opposite, same service with a reduced menu.

“Romantic and cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2010

This restaurant is very romantic, the ilumination, tables, flowers and the small street of rocks allows the romantism come in. I ate a chicken crepe with a spicy salsa - not so spicy and a "naranjada" - orange juice with water. If you ask mineral water, it comes with gaseified water, you have to ask with natural water. They dont sell just the juice, it is cultural. I also ordered a dessert, caramel and nuts crepe with a wine taste - simple marvelous. I do recommend and I want to go back with my boyfriend, he wasnt there :-(
