“Some of the best chilaquiles in town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

This fun, hip atmoshpere was perfect for a weekend brunch. It's right next to the park in Condesa, and was close to our bed and breakfast. The red chilaquiles were spicy, but so so good.

“Good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

It's really a cafeteria, breakfast is good, served in abundance, service was quick and curteous, prices are surprisingly accessible. I made the mistake of asking for two dishes (chilaquiles and omelette) which was way too much food; luckily the rest of the party was more than willing to have some!

Woud recommend going early, certainly before 10AM on a weekend, first to avoid the loud families and second to avoid having to queue...

“Fun place, delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

I went to El Ocho for a late dinner and drinks with friends and loved it.

You may have to wait for a table for some time if you go on a Saturday night, but the wait is worth it. The Classic Hamburger is just fantastic, with an unexpected a Mexican touch that makes it delicious.

It is a clean and nice place, staff is friendly, and young people go there to have fun.

A great option for a night outing with friends or your couple.

“Come for the ambience, not for the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Have eaten at el ocho many times. It is important to note that it has moved from Avenida Amsterdam to a few blocks away, on Avenida México, in front of Parque México. What ocho has is a visual setting which is excellent. Lots of games, an interactive tactile table top that kids can play on, and just generally a visubally pleasing set up. The food is just OK. Breakfasts are fine, i have had the huevos el ocho many times, which is a bean filled quesadilla, with some fried eggs atop it, floating in tasty red sauce. Also, the sopa azteca (aztec soup) is quite good). But outside of that, everything is so so. What it does have however is something for everyone, decent presentation, and a congenial atmosphere. If you are in a diverse group of people, or with kids, looking for something that will leave everyone happy, try el ocho.

“One of my favorite breakfasts in Latin America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

Is come to a time where my wife and I desire to go Café Ocho to have a delicious breakfast experience. When you go, expect to wait…but don’t worry, just enjoy seeing the park just in front of the restaurant and people walking or biking or exercising or just sitting and watching the dogs and kid playing around. When the time comes, you will get in. I have been in the restaurant I think that 3 times. All of them I have been sit on the center of the place. They also have a small terrace at the back and outdoor sits in the front. You have choices of nice flavors for natural juices and shakes…then you have nice sweet breads. Last time I had “huevos suavecitos”…something like “soft eggs”…absolutely amazing…!!!...a real pleasure in your mouth. Then you can go outside and walk to digest your food and enjoy the relaxed park Mexico. Café ocho is a hiddem jem in “La condesa”.
