“Food is a lot better when you're not here for business!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

I had previously visited here for business breakfast/ lunches/ dinners and didn't like how the place was packed and noisy. This time, we went for an early personal lunch (well, normal lunch at 12ish, but early for Mexican 2pm) and it was much more enjoyable. The wait staff was sleepy at first, probably those who were from the busy breakfast shift, but the service level and pace picked up later.

For starters, we had escargot (very tender) and soupe de poisson (delicious). We then moved on to duck confit and slow roasted lamb leg for mains, both of which were excellent. The only disappointment was dessert, strawberry gazpacho, which was too sweet for our taste.

Definitely a more enjoyable experience when you're not here for work!

“Pardon, mais ici, on mange Frances!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

For me the most authentic French restaurant in Mexico. The place allows for Bistro kitchen and atmosphere as well for fine French haute cuisine, we enjoyed various business lunches and would return for the excellent taste and atmosphere.

“THE place for French food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

The only thing I can say about Au Pied de Couchon is: I LOVE IT! Their wine lsit is awesome! they were recognized by Wine Spectator for havinf one of the best wine cellars arround the world. One of the Sommeliers (Fernando) immediately gets your point while looking for a perfect wine to match your onion soup or ever better: Creme Brulee (the best I´ve ever had outside of France). Something which is really funny is that the palce has hidden pigs all arround the palce so if you´re walking arround and look at the carpet you may find a little piggy there, at the doors, everywhere! A point to highlight is that this place is open 24/7 so it becomes the ONLY place to have upscale dinner after 1:30 pm in the city. It´s located inside the Intercontinental Hotel at the Polanco district. Perfect to go on a date or to have a business dinner. Dress code is not really observed, but I would say smart casual would be the bottomline.

“Great place for festive business lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

We had a "closing" lunch here - wine, 2 hours, scary pigs foot entre. The feel is very authentic for an upscale French bistro with some Mexican touches. The wine list was good, service was good, and the place was packed even at 4:30 PM. There are a couple of semi-private tables that are good for business meetings

“Excellent French food in Polanco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

I had a business dinner here this past Monday and the restaurant was surprisingly busy given the day of the week. The menu is like you would expect in an authentic Paris bistro. I chose some of my favorites:

Starter: French onion soup au gratinee
Main Course: Cassoulet
Dessert: Creme Brulee

All were very good and authentic. Service was top notch and fast. I can't think of a single criticism.
