“Perfect Gay Leisure Headquarters for a Mexico City visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2010

The staff was most helpful and gracious. The breakfast was delicious and safe for American stomachs. The rooms were clean and they even changed the sheets in the middle of the week. Oscar was so helpful and found us a wonderful tour guide which enabled us to see a large part of the city by ourselves. The rest of the staff was also helpful and fluent in English. The location was only a few blocks from the gay bars and clubs and great restaurants. We are looking forward to our next trip there, it was so enjoyable

My husband and I found our stay at 6M9 to be very enjoyable. The staff here is very welcoming and helpful. At breakfast each morning, Liz and Miguel (both bilingual) had great suggestions for enjoying the city and were more than happy to help. Oscar, the host, was also on hand for any needs we had.

The Internet connection (free) was wireless, fast, and reliable. I also loved the free beer provided upstairs in the bar/sunroom area.

The place has a very "Zen" feeling about it. It's very peaceful and made for a great contrast to the bustling city.

6M9 is a very short walk (about 5 blocks or so) to the "gay" street... Amberes. Plus, there are many restaurants and bars even closer than that. The Metro is about the same distance... and you can easily walk to La Reforma and Chapultepec Park.

The actual street that 6M9 is on, is a bit run-down... but not enough so to take away from all the advantages of this guest house.

Our only complaint was that our bed was very hard. We could have asked to change rooms... but didn't find it that big of a problem. When we book there next time (and we will)... we will as for a room with a softer bed.

If you are planning a lovely vacation to Mexico City, you must stay here, this is a really comfortable guest house with all services that you need.
If you are going alone or with your partner and / or friends, this is a real nice place to stay.
All the rooms were decorated to the perfection. The have a roof deck which is really nice.
The staff is really friendly and they will help with everything you need.
The Healthy Breakfast is included on the price and it is awesome. It is served with Plenty of tropical fruits, with cereal and freshly brewed juice with a Mexican cup of coffee.
The rooms are perfectly designed to fit all the needs of GLBT travelers, all rooms have everything what you need.
They have a small pool and a hot tub in case you want to get relaxed.
The location is really nice and it is walking distance from all the pubs, dance floors and restaurants on the GLBT area known as "Zona Rosa"
Again If you want to spend a relaxed vacation please consider this option, specially if you are part of the GLBT community because the owners are gay.

Great location, quiet (amazingly so!), very friendly owners. Neat old house. You don't feel like a tourist walking up to this place. You have a key and you let yourself into this beautiful restored mansion.

Breakfast was only adequate. Beers in the fridge more made up for it!

It's a little dark inside, but we all look better in the dark.

No sign on outside. Cab from airport had never heard of it (no surprise) so have a map and know where you are going. No sign on the outside. And it looks dark (no interior lights shining onto street.)

All in all, a needed respite from the city swirling around you.

This place is such a treasure and so tranquil in a city as huge and chaotic as Mexico City. It's just a couple of blocks from the zona rosa, so being a gay hotel and being so close to the gay area was a big draw. They facility itself is like an old mansion, roof top patio, pool, hot tube, nice room, flat screen tv, great breakfast, SUPER friendly and helpful staff! I can't recommend this place enough, did I mention I only paid $50 US a night and they offer complimentary drinks including BEER and also a nice modern gym!!!

First of all I need to point out that we have never stayed at 6M9 Guesthouse, however I felt it necessary to relate the very positive and professional business practices they employ.

Several months ago my partner & I booked a stay at 6M9 and made a 1 night deposit for a 5 night stay beginning April 30th 2009. A little more than a week before we were to check in I prepaid our entire stay. And then some damn pig sneezed; ridiculous, mass hysteria ensued, causing the whole of Mexico City shut down. Our hope had been to visit many of the sights that had been temporarily shuttered. We had no fear of going, but we weren't showing up with absolutely nothing to do. We contacted 6M9 to change our booking to arrive about a week later. They were kind enough to make our change with no fees or penalties whatsoever! But that wasn't the end.

So many people with irrational fears canceled their trips to Mexico that most of the airlines (including ours) significantly reduced service by discontinuing as much as half of their Mexican flight schedule. We could get to Mexico City, but then we couldn't get home (or at least not in any reasonable way). So with no end in sight to the panic, and rather frustrated by it all, I contacted 6M9 again to ask what we could do about canceling our stay. Would we have a credit? Would we loose anything? Their answer was delightful! Our initial deposit would be kept by them as a deposit for a future stay and the rest would be refunded in full! Within a few hours of their e-mail I had notification of the refund. Within 3 days it was back on my credit card!

Even though we've never stayed at 6M9, and have never met the proprietors, we'll definitely book our next trip with them and will recommend them to all of our GLBT friends! They are to be commended for their honesty, integrity and principled business practices. We wish them well during this difficult time.

I read reviews on this place before booking and didnt know what to expect. Fortunately it was excellent. Its a good location and I had a quiet and clean room with free wifi and drinks too. There are various areas to relax after an exciting day in the city. The staff were very helpful and I will definitely be staying again.
