Good location, mexico city is big, this hotel is inbetween the old downtown and the big parks/museums, 3 minute walk to good subway line and the gay pink zone. Hotels st is nice and quite despite been so close to the nightclub pink zone.
It's a big old grande building with charm and character. All guests and staff are gay. It is clean.
The advertised free wireless internet = weak / unuseable, did not work in all three bedrooms i tried, only works slowly in the shared hallway area.
The neighbors have been renovating LOUDLY for well over 6 months now, the dust from their work covers the bricked no direct sunlight pool area (although the hot tub is nice).
Rooms sharing the wall with the renovation were filled with the sound of BANGING every weekday morning/afternoon.
Rooms facing the pool/rear were filled with fine dust and plaster from the renovations next door, so much dust it tastes awful in your mouth as you breathe.
The internal stairway is a beautiful polished wood which was mopped daily due to the endless DUST.
Rooms facing the street have fresh air and light, all other rooms are dusty and dark.
Breakfast is good, fresh fruit, cerial, ok instnt coffee, only white bread, served in nice big room, service is great.
Meet two staff, the young guy is very unskilled, but the older man is a GREAT person, a pleasure to meet, very helpful with ALL tourist stuff, very friendly, perfect english, he should be a movie stars personal assistant.
Whilst this is a guesthouse and not a hotel, you do get more privacy compared to other guesthouses.
Also up top is small gym and rooftop for nude sunbathing and free beer in the fridge, very nice touch!
