“Impressive Each Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

I've seen the murals twice now (2010 and 2014) and was impressed each time. The second time I saw them, we hired a kindly official guide who greeted us upon entering. She was phenomenal and provided the insight I didn't get the first time I visited. The pesos spent on the guide was well worth it.

“A must see”

Go directly to the third floor to see the most astonishing murals made by Diego Rivera - and do not hesitate to say you want to visit all alone, the staff working there is used to visitors!

“Great Murals!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

We are Diego fans, and have seen his works in San Francisco also. Had to search a bit for this building. Lovely setting though, you can just imagine him working there. Beautiful works.

“What a treat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

This is a treat for anyone that loves art. Diego tells the history of Mexico city and the world through his Frescos. It is great to start from the first level and work your way up seeing how the world has changed. Diego does it his on way and his way is pretty amazing. The best thing about this place is that it never gets crowded, pretty empty most of the time and its free. Its near the Zocola so It is pretty easy to find. Definitely worth the trip

“The best are superb and the overall effect is magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

This is the ministry of education and in the early 1920's Rivera painted over 100 murals around the three collonaded floors that surround the two courtyards. Entry is free and the building is easily accessible in the centre of Mexico City near the Zocalo. Go and wander around. Don't be put off by the occasional naivete and agitprop, taken as a whole this is an immensely impressive enterprise. Don't miss the self portrait and other paintings in the enclosed stairwell
