“Beautiful building! Free of charge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

The post office is an extremely beautiful building on the exterior and interior.

Most tourists will visit Palacio de Bellas Artes and it's worth a trip to the post office while you're doing that as well.

It's a block or two away and you will only need 15-20 minutes here.

You can walk around the lower level which is an actual post office that is in use and then take some pictures on the staircase.

You can't go upstairs.

“The most beautiful classic building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

This has to be the most beautiful classic builiding in Downtown Mexico City. All details are gorgeous and the surrounding area is also impressive (Bellas Artes, Banco de Mexico, Sanborns Azulejos) and just 10-12 minute walk from the heart of Mexico City, the Zocalo. Worth the visit in a downtown tour.

“One of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014 via mobile

It is so good to see this is still used as the main post office. It is free to get into, and that is just fine with me. The interior is just splendid. The brass is wonderful to behold. One can look at it and see how it was shipped from the foundry in Italy and assembled on site. The opaque glass ceiling broadcasts the most soothing light over the whole main lobby. If you are in Mexico City you should stop in to admire the interior of this glorious post office. You will be fascinated.

“Opulent inside will surprise you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

This building is at least worth a pop-in visit (20-30 mins) to see the opulent gold plated bars surrounding the various mail rooms and well as the central staircase.
