“Great value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Stayed here for 4 days in May 2013.

Doesnt look much from street but rooms are clean and modern. Noisy air conditioning unit was only complaint....but for $50 a night you just cant go wrong.

Location is good with lots of bars and restaurants nearby and 30 minutes walking distance to the historic centre or nearby underground station another option.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on my first trip to Mexico City and felt that it's an excellent value. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat and gladly recommend it to friends. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and modern and the location was decent. The price was excellent for what you get. I don't have any major complaints. Like some say, expect the air-conditioner to be loud, but that didn't bother me much. Plus you can set the fan on low when you go to sleep and it'll be much quieter. The walk to the metro is a bit far. The closest will be either insurgentes or revolucion. Both are about a 20 minute walk or so. Not the biggest deal as you can just hail a cab if you don't feel like walking there. I felt the neighborhood was safe and had no problems walking around there at night. Only other issue is there was a slight strange smell in the bathroom that I commonly experience in Mexico, maybe it has to do with the sewage systems in Mexico. Nothing overpowering but it was present. I could see some people maybe finding the bed mattress a bit hard for their liking, but since I have back problems, the firm mattress was perfect for me. Overall, good place and I will be back on my next trip to DF.

We stayed here for two nights, however should have stayed here for our whole trip.

It's nice, new and clean with nice staff to help us out. Wifi only works in the foyer and despite giving us three different remote controls, we couldn't get the TV to work at all.

It's not a big walk to restaurants and downtown which was very handy

We are pleased to read that the treatment that you received from our staff was the one which actually we want to project to all our guests. The location of the hotel is one of our strengths. Located just at steps from the two most important avenues of Mexico, Reforma and Insurgentes. It is the ideal spot to begin to know this huge city. Please do not hesitate to visit again. We will be honored by your choice.

My husband and I were in Mexico City for a course and for some tourism for about 15 days. We chose El Ejecutivo based on TripAdvisor ratings, and the price. The location was also close to other very nice, international hotels: Holiday Inn Express, Marriott, etc. I've seen some complaints about the hotel being too far from any Metro stations. The two closest stations are a tad far, but the walks are safe. Yes, the mobile AC is loud, but it works! Try to get a room on a lower floor (6 or below) so that your room doesn't get hit with direct sunlight during the day and heat up. The bed was comfy and clean, and large! The decoration was modern, although not luxury. But, hey! You're paying about $55 per night! I found the reservation and check in processes to be streamlined and efficient. We spent our first 4 nights in Mexico City at El Ejecutivo, then went out of town for a few nights to see the surrounding smaller towns. Before heading back home from Mexico, we went back to Mexico City, and chose to stay at El Ejecutivo again! We made this second reservation while in Mexico, and were still able to get a great price! I found the front desk service to be very helpful. My husband was happy that we had at least three Starbucks in within 5 minutes walking distance, and I was happy that there was a Banco Santander ATM on the block beside the hotel. (Santander tends to have the best withdrawal fees, or even none at all, depending on your original bank.)
One thing: There is a "sitio" of taxis outside on the corner. They look like normal burgundy and gold cabs, but charge you a RIDICULOUS amount! We took a cab to somewhere about 40 minutes away from the hotel, and the driver charged us about $18, which didn't seem so bad. He even said he was giving us a discount. On the way back to the hotel, we grabbed a taxi off the street. The driver used the taximetro, and it was only $7!!!!!!!! Same drop off and pick up spot. Same hotel. Ack! From them forward, we hailed cabs on Reforma, and made sure to ask that they used the taximetro, or we used a cab "from the hotel" that was more expensive than a normal cab, but not as bad as those guys waiting on the corner. Geez!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a lower floor.

Thank you for your kind words. For us it was a pleasure to attend you and we feel glad that we have been given the opportunity of receiving o lodging you in one of our rooms, with completely new furnishing and an innovative minimalist design. No doubt our location becomes an important factor for our customers since we are close to a main road surrounded by several places that may be of interest. Concerning site taxis the Price tends to elevate a Little o get a Little higher because they belong to a private company, we recommend using them because they are a safer choice tan regular taxis however depends on the guests. We hope to have the privilege to have you back with us.

We stayed while they are completing the renovations to the outside paving and its very nice inside! Only bummer about the room is like other reviewers say no fridge and portable aircondiotioner is VERY loud.

Location I would say its not as great as everyone says, if you have a bit more cash to spend than $50 USD a night I would go closer to a metro station at this one is 1.7km away.

Breakfast was always different and gave us a real view of Mexican food. 115 peso each for buffet so not bad and a good selection.

Side note its cheaper to book on the hotel website than any hotel discount page.

It's good to know that we were the best choice for your stay in the city of Mexico and that the service seemed remarkable. We are also glad that you found our location convenient. Regarding the windows we would like to mention that due to safety regulations, we felt the need to put cracks in the kind referred to reshape all our rooms. But we also included a equipment of Air Conditioning in each of these rooms and making every guest can adjust the temperature to your liking. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again as always a pleasure to do so.

Our family of ten rented three rooms, they gave us the the rooms in a row and on the same floor. It was very clean, had bottles of water in the bathroom, beds were comfy and the in-closet safe worked. The rooms on the 4th floor looked like they had been recently remodeled.

The only negative would be that the ventilation grate in the bathroom allows you to hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is saying. My sis-in-law and I carried on a conversation while we were in our own separate bathrooms...kind of freaky if you ask me and am so glad that they were my neighbors.

Overall a very good stay and would definitely stay there again.

It is always a great pleasure for us to receive reviews from our guests, because with each visit we provide more details about hosting preferences giving us the opportunity to give them a highly personalized service and make your stay a success. Our rooms have been renovated for the convenience of our customers. We would also like to mention we count with different room distributions so this effect does not happen in all of them, however we will consider the appearance of the grid to avoid listening to room to room. We hope you continue to give us the opportunity to attend you whenever you need to come to Mexico City because, for us, is always a great pleasure to welcome you.

First time visitors to Mexico City. Found Hotel el Ejecutivo on the internet, liked the pictures but also the very reasonable price. Located on quiet side street. When we arrived, the staff was great, professional, very friendly and helpful (we do not speak Spanish). Room was exactly like the pictures! Appreciate the bottles of water every day and housekeeping was excellent! Our sink water faucet was a little wobbly and the water pressure in the shower was hit or miss but not a problem in the least. Flat screen TV was great! We asked for a higher floor and the view of the city and mountains was really nice. We stayed SIX nights and signed up for the buffet breakfast package. Full buffet breakfast was pretty good, liked the variety of several different dishes every day. Tried the dinner the night we arrived because of the convenience but since Mexico City offers such great places to eat, we went elsewhere for the rest of our stay. Also very convenient was the sitio taxi stand right on the corner (the taxi directly in front of the hotel charged twice as much as the sitio cabs!). There is a small sidewalk cafe in the hotel too - really nice. No pool or fitness center but we weren't looking for one Location was VERY convenient - we walked to restaurants and the ATM (!) and convenience store and cabbed everywhere else. WE WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WOULD RETURN IN A SECOND! Thank you!

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor for nicer city view.
