“The most tasty place to eat in mexico”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

The food is very good, although the place look like a diner. The service in the middle of the week in wonderful but during the weekend is a bit problematic since the place is full and the waiters forget to serve you properly.

“Good, honest, quality food is a faithful reflection of restaurant as a whole.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012 via mobile

Just a short stroll from Bellas Artes, we chanced upon this modest restaurant/cafe while wandering through the historic centre of Mexico City. And it was just what we were looking for - an inexpensive meal, freshly prepared with generous portions, in authenticity low-key surroundings with no frills for sure, but with all the elements in place. The menu is extensive, and offers all the traditional Mexican staples, along with all-day meal-deal packages. And here, all day means all night too, as this place is open 24 hours, and would be a great alternative to greasy tacos for any night owls.

Considering its location, right on the tourist trail, we didn't see many tourists inside, but it was brimful of Mexicans who were happy slaying their appetites there. Did I mention the portions were generous AND tasty?

This place is good for a quick coffee and pastry, or a full meal, and they have a daily menu too which went a little beyond the normal choices (grilled goat anyone?) At under 60 pesos it looked like a bargain, and I took a photo of the daily menu which I'll try and attach.

We were there too early to try it, but our breakfasts were good, I had nothing more exciting than ham-n-eggs but the ratio of ham to egg was impressive.

I really like La Pagoda, it had a hidden charm of its own based on its honest authenticity, helped by the fine and fast service which was efficient without being push.

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
