David Álfaro Siqueiros was one of the 'big 3' Mexican muralists, the youngest, the one who utilized the widest range of art media, and who most suffered for his political stance. This one-of-a-kind 'multimedia' venue reflects all those aspects of the man and his art, also serving as a Mexico City landmark on Av. Insurgentes, and a lively cultural center, very near the World Trade convention center and always worth a visit, with its murals inside and out. There is good info about Siqueiros online, or if you read Spanish his autobiography, Me Llamaban el Coronelazo, is wonderful. Another Siqueiros site worth visiting is his one-time home in the Polanco neighborhood, now the Sala de Arte Publica Siqueiros; a small gem of a museum.
