“Impressive and big”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

This basilica rivals any cathedral in Europe for size, scale, and magificenses. Of course you can not miss it as the central building in the Zololo. I was there for Christmas and I am sure it was especially dressed up for the time of year.

“Spiritual”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

After a deep renovation the old cathedral is ready for a visit. Impresive sight at the end of Calzada de los misterios. The whole plaza is being renovated.

“Be very careful which tour company you choose.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

The ruins at Teotihuacan are spectacular, and you should allow 3hrs minimum to climb the pyramids and see the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, etc. The entire site is ~5km from end to end. Our tour also included the Basilica of Guadalupe which is interesting but can be seen in about 15 min., unless you are particularly interested in the historical and spiritual details.

The bus tour we went with lasted almost 9 hours, but unfortunately we spent only 2 hours of that time at Teotihuacan. The rest of the time was wasted because of the poor organization of the tour operator, plus 3 hours in total spent at isolated, overpriced shops that the tour bus delivered us to. The tour was only ~$35 USD per person, but it would be worth spending more to spend more time at Teotihuacan.

“The First Basilica of Guadalupe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2011

It is the First Basilica Constructed as a Promise to the Virgen of Guadalupe, it started to suffer critical damages to the structure and the new Basilica was constructed. With modern technology the structure was refurbushed and is now open to the public.

“Beautiful and amazing, but please restrict vendors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

We had an excellent tour of the Teotihuacan pyramids and Basilica. The pyramid tour exceeded expectations in terms of beauty and education. The only restriction we have is the number of vendors within the site area needs to be reduced and there must be a policy where if you say no, the vendors do not continue hounding, completely ignoring your request. We would have stayed longer, but got worn down by the vendors.
