This is a beautiful hotel in the Santa Fe section of Mexico in the same locale as the JW Marriott and Sheraton Hotels. Upon arriving a bellhop approaches and the same one handles your luggage all the way to the room. There is none of that three people and three tips nonsense that occur at many hotels. Upon entering there are a good number of check-in people and they are friendly and efficient.
I was impressed that to use the elevators you must have a room key to activate a floor. The rooms are nice sized, mine with a king bed, desk, HDTV, and sofa. There are three lamps (desk, nightstand and floor), and I would characterize the lighting as low, I would prefer more wattage. The WIFI worked very well, had good speed, and the TV had some English stations, but not many. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the HVAC worked very well.
The bathroom was a good sized. The water pressure on the ninth floor could have been much better, the shower did not have the double Westin heads on purpose I would guess from the lack of pressure with their only having a single head. My room had both a stall shower and a tub. The regular Westin toiletries were in the bathroom.
The rooms and bathroom were very clean, being on the ninth floor was very quiet and a good night’s sleep was easy.
The workout room on the top floor is excellent. There are numerous ellipticals, treadmills, bicycles, in fact there are several spin cycles. All of them were in great condition. Some weight machines, balls and free weights are also available, but no mats. The hours during the week are 600-2200 but if you want earlier call Service Express and they will open. There are bottles of water in the fitness center.
The restaurant on the LB level serves Italian food and Breakfast. The breakfast was a nice buffet with fresh fruits, cereals, eggs, bacon, and juices all were very good.
As a head’s up there is a second restaurant, Spanish cuisine, one level down from the LB. I was given the impression when I checked in that this was part of the hotel. The food was great but when I asked to charge it to the room, I unfortunately discovered that they had no association with the hotel. The front desk did a bad job in explaining that when I checked in. That one item would be my only negative of this hotel.
Overall, the Westin was a great choice and if I return to this area I will definitely use this hotel.
