We stayed at the JW for four nights. The hotel is lovely with lots of staff and security. As two senior women travelers we always felt safe. We were on the 19th floor and used the executive lounge extensively. The buffet served in the evening was easily dinner on a couple nights. The complimentary wines were actually quite decent and the staff were happy to fill an empty glass. The staff in the lounge made an effort to remember particular likes, knowing I preferred red wines and remembering I liked a lot of milk in my coffee.
Our reservation was a liitle complicated but the front desk staff worked it out. They were also happy to change larger peso bills to smaller more convenient bills although they couldn't change dollars to pesos.
The concierge staff was a great help throughout our stay arranging drivers to various locations and a pyramid tour. They gave us detailed directions when we decided to walk the nearby park. They were super helpful as was everyone in the hotel.
The taxi ride back and forth to the historic center was often clogged with traffic and could take more than half an hour. Actually getting almost anywhere was a trial with the traffic congestion. However, even with the distances required because of the JW's location I would still definitely stay at the JW again if I return to Mexico City.
