“..one of the best hotels in Mexico City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have been in Mexico City.

I wouldnt classify as a hotel , I would say its more of an appartment/hotel. I have stayed there for a week and I was impressed by the service and the installations.

The room was very comfortable and with its own living room and small kitchen. the breakfast you had the option to take it in your room or in the small garden on the indoor terrace in the first floor.

The hotel staff was always helpfull and had the right tips. Its located quite in the border of the Polanco and the center. Its a walking distance to the center of Polanco as well a walking distance to Roma (trendy area with good restaurants and good bars.

I shortly after my stay I received an email saying that the hotel will be closing shortly (not clear for me the reasons) but its worth checking the reservation very good before paying any site that offers room there.

I was looking for a modern hotel in a great location in Mexico City and this was the perfect place to stay. The service was great, above and beyond what I could have hoped for in a hotel. The hotel itself is stunning and has a wonderful roof top deck that is great for evening relaxation. I would definitely recommend Lumina Luxury Suites to other travelers! It is also in walking distance to many great museums and other fun stuff.

We have been coming to Mexico city for years to see family. We were excited to find a boutique hotel to replace the major chain where we usually stay. Found Lumina on a luxury link site. At any rate we were quite disappointed. Its not in Polanco but rather Colonia Anzures. Its not possible to walk to Polanco easily. The driver was not at the airport as promised so we had to take our own car in. Taxi arranged by hotel to take us to the airport was very late and shabby. They have an arrangement with a private car company whose rates were double that of a "sitio" or taxi, and no better car or service. One of the bathrooms had a sewer smell so we had to cover the sink with a plastic bag. Breakfast was ok as it was fruit and toast, but forget any dinner..scrambled eggs were very poor. The beds were very comfortable and the linens first class I have to say. It seemed fairly clean. The price is good, for a major city like Mexico DF, but personally this place wasn't for us and we won't be returning. Having filled out the form below I can see that my marks don't quite match my verbal feedback. Perhaps the hotel just overpromises and underdelivers.

We made this reservation last minute and were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of these suites and at a great price. We stayed in their Senior Suite, with a sitting area, kitchen and separate and private rooms and bathrooms for two or for two couples. The hotel staff was friendly, very helpful and professional. They even arranged for our car to the airport, which was more than reasonable. Reviews we had read complained about the noise, and although it is downtown in one of the largest cities in the world, we had a quiet and restful sleep. Our room was well appointed and the overall design of the hotel is very modern and well thought out. They do have a gym, massage/steam room and upper patio, but we weren't there long enough to enjoy these benefits although we did take a look just so we would know for our next visit to Lumina.

I would highly recommend this hotel. With only 12 suites (each with it's own personality) this hotel delivers the service of a 5 star hotel with the intimacy of a boutique hotel. The room was cozy, comfortable and the morning breakfast delivery was fabulous. From the moment you walk into the soothing lobby you will feel at home.

Room Tip: Elba was great!

Within easy walking distance of Chapultepec Park and the excellent museums in the Park, the Lumina Luxury Suites was a perfect place for a husband, a wife, a daughter and an aunt to spend 5 days in Mexico City. Two very nice bedrooms -- one with a king size bed and one with twin beds, a spacious living room, a full kitchen and two small outdoor courtyards were just what we needed. Free breakfast to start the day, a staff which absolutely could not do enough for us, free WiFi and a splendid location. We look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: We liked the ground floor suite. No view of course (in fact, nearly no windows), but it was quiet a...

Check in at the Lumina and they hand you a mobile phone with their number already programmed in. So all you do, anywhere in the city, is press a button and you're through to the hotel who will then arrange for a taxi to transport you back there. Invaluable in the sprawling metropolis of Mexico City.

The hotel is an extremely comfortable, modern building in Polanco, just a stone's throw from Chapultepec Park. The name "luxury suites" tells it all. Breakfast is brought to your suite every morning at whatever time you wish, either to eat in the lounge or to take out on to the patio to enjoy the morning sun. Look out for the homemade natural pine apple flavoured jam. Absolutely delicious!

Friendly, helpful staff too, who looked after me extremely well.
